Guest chapter 5 . 8/1 Please update soon! I don’t think I’ve ever read a fic like this one and I am so invested in it! You’re doing an amazing job! |
Writingfan27 chapter 5 . 7/30 Great chapter! I love the cliff-hanger! And I feel so bad for Darry and Pony, I don't know what I'd do if I ever was in a situation like that. Can't wait for you to update! :) |
Jolielisa chapter 5 . 7/30 I'm so hooked on this story! You write beautifully. |
ShinyLane1.2 chapter 5 . 7/30 Oh! I wish you could've seen my glee when I sat down after a long day of work just in time to receive your chapter update :) I am loving these descriptions of the storm. I feel that ferociousness, it's pretty relentless, isn't it?... a cat with FANGS? A violent child having a trantrum? UM, YES, that is amazingly imaginative. This is great, I can see and feel that snow and wind, and I don't want to be anywhere near it. Your edits are fabulous. "Can you freeze to death overnight?" That gave me goosebumps! Leave it to Pony to ask the most terrifying question! Again. Darry's worry is becoming my own every time we get a look into what he's thinking and just how unprepared and vulnerable anyone would feel in that truck. I know I've already told you all the lines and moments I loved and I enjoyed them a lot this second time reading through. Reading this again, I want to know SO much more about Darry locking himself in his room. And I'm curious why Pony doesn't remember this... sickness or is it truly that he didn't want to to remember some of the more difficult parts of his childhood? Great job, Simona! I'm so happy to read this! :) :) |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/27 So I'm really impressed with your writing and am looking forward to more. Your descriptions are spot on and I can feel the characters as I'm reading...awesome job! You really are super talented :) |
ShinyLane1.2 chapter 4 . 7/25 Simona! This chapter was GREAT! Your descriptions here are wonderful... you completely nailed that feeling of being vulnerable in a snowstorm. Truly. The not being able to see out the windshield, the fishtailing cars, the slamming on the breaks and skidding, the chaos on the highway, and how sometimes it feels like it'll be okay to wait out the storm, only to find you've cemented yourself in the snow by doing this. Seriously, I'm over here on the other side of my screen in the middle of July heat shivering and freaking out a bit thinking of them in this place. We've all felt really sick before, but I can't say I've been in a position like this when I was. Poor Ponyboy's got to be feeling awful, and it doesn't seem like it's going to be getting better anytime soon. And now his neck hurts? Hm... what exactly is wrong with him here? I'm so curious! Also, I have to commend you for the way you paint Darry here. The way he asks if Pony hit his head but doesn't wait for a response. How he rubs the back of Pony's neck instead of apologizing because apologizing just isn't Darry's way, is it? And, of course, how he's constantly seeking answers and ways to fix their problem, and keep Pony feeling as best as he can in the process. He's got a special protective nature about him. I wonder if we'll see Soda's POV anytime soon? He's probably freaking out all by himself in that house with no way to know where they are or how to help them. YIKES. Okay... I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter, great job! :) |
outsiders-stories-forever chapter 4 . 7/25 Can’t wait to read the next chapter. Good job with the story |
Writingfan27 chapter 4 . 7/24 Oooh great chapter! I like how Darry keeps trying to convince Ponyboy that he knows the way home and that they're going to get home yet he really is unsure himself. Poor Soda is probably worrying his head off back at the house! And I really feel for Pony, whatever he has definitely doesn't sound like fun and now he has to stay in the car for what seems like hours! That sounds horrible! I'm really excited for your next chapter! Great job! :) |
ShinyLane1.2 chapter 3 . 7/22 Oh, no, Simona, I'm getting worried. Darry's having trouble opening the door because of the wind? Man, that's a storm I would NOT want to get caught in the middle of. Another great chapter! Your descriptions here are so vivid! I loved Ron, and the backstory you give us on his father and the sweet connection he's got with the Curtis boys. Again, those are the little details that really sell a story for me when I'm reading. I like to get lost in all that's happening in action and in history, and you really nailed that in this chapter! Poor Pony, something must really be wrong for him to feel so bad and weak. The way you pain his unsteadiness makes me feel like I'm right there, watching all this unfold. It's no fun being as sick as he is, but it's especially worrisome if their travel home is threatened by this storm. Heck, even Ron has got a serious face about it in all his positivity.. You've still definitely got me itching to read more, great job and thanks for sharing! :) |
Writingfan27 chapter 3 . 7/22 Great chapter! I'm worried for Pony, hopefully he gets better! And that cliffhanger! I loved the way you describe Darry having to trudge towards the truck because of the blizzard and I find it funny cause Darry was skeptical about it snowing in the first place. I can't wait to see what happens next! :) |
outsiders-stories-forever chapter 2 . 7/20 Love this story! Keep going please :) |
ShinyLane1.2 chapter 2 . 7/13 Another great chapter, Simona! Isn't it so Sodapop to be thinking on that storm and the elements? You've really got me worried over here because, though it hasn't turned to a blizzard yet, we all know what is coming! And all they have is that one ski jacket! "It's probably a 20 minute drive. Off the highway"- it is subtle little hints like that, or the reminder that TwoBit is the only ones dressed for the weather that add wonderful color to a story. They're little details, but they make it clear that whatever is coming, they are not prepared for. I also enjoyed that little flashback from the stables :) Poor Pony's really not feeling well, I'm so glad he's got two big brothers who look so carefully after him, though. That line about the blotches on his face looking like that came from red crayon was perfect. Again, I love your characterizations of these boys, TwoBit and Steve as well. Can't wait for more! |
HappierThanMost chapter 1 . 7/11 Simona I'm so proud of you for taking the plunge! I always say it takes guts to put yourself out there. But let me tell you, I absolutely love your writing. You've done a beautiful job with all your descriptions and your style is smooth. I could feel how sick Pony was in this piece. And I could also feel the love and concern of his brothers just as strongly. Congrats on a magnificent job! |
Writingfan27 chapter 2 . 7/9 I liked this chapter! My favorite line was "Want some beer?" That was hilarious and totally in character for Two-Bit. Great job! Can't wait to see more from you :) |
Jolielisa chapter 2 . 7/9 I love this story so much! You have all their personalities down perfectly. Can't wait to read more. |
