Ok that was a good chapter. You asked for inconsistencies, what comes to mind are two things.
1st. Your characterization of the covenant was good, but it slips a little. i.e Jackpot, which can be considered a human figure of speech. something an elite would not use.
2nd. the first Captain was outwardly cowering. i.e he dropped his mug of coffee. Im not saying that if i saw a covenant fleet approaching and death was certain I wouldn't shit my pants but it is the job of the captain to be the ideal of calm, the leader for the rest of the crew, thats not to say they're NOT going "fuck fuck fuck" In their heads, they're simply not allowed to show it as it would have a severe effect on moral.
This can also be used on purpose to characterise a person in command as being incompetent, with it having an effect on the crew. You did something similar (but in the opposite way where it had a positive outcome) with the Elite and his grunts, reducing their panic by being stern or threatening them.
I hope my criticism was constructive (if it wasn't be free to grill me for it) and i cannot wait for the next chapter.

Don't worry about the reviews. Keep writing until you're done or something forces your attention elsewhere. I have that problem, still haven't updated. Work, studies and general life is a pain. But, I would recommend that when you do update on Sunday, delete this Update and then replace it with the chapter. And stick this message on the bottom A/N. :)

it has a good foundation, i.e good mood and characterisation etc. It will be a good story if you push through. Though it might have some trouble getting off the ground, being a halo x cod, where the communities dont often mix.
like a romeo and juliet kind of thing where the romeo and juliet are the fics and the angry waring families are the communities.

You have a good foundation for a fun fanfic. Please keep it up.
