Am extra partial to this chapter because you referenced my favourite movie ever! I was half expecting a lady in q red dress, but I loved the mental process you showed of Shawn deducing about the people around him.

Totally laughed out loud at Cal's line that Shawn has been talking thia whole time.
Also, Gus' dig about hia fingers being crossed was a nice retort.

Great references in the chapter. The Pirates of the Caribbean one nade me laugh out loud at the image of Shawn pitifully saying "parley?"And then fist bump to you at including Under Siege/Steven Segal! Such a great movie.

Cannot wait to see the Captain's reaction to what Shawn said. I totally smirked at the tidbit that Bluto was scared of her. Also, the name of the ship made me think of TinTin.

Now I was assuming the ship Shawn and Dennis are on is owned by a criminal syndicate, but if there's any truth to Cal's claim, the boat could be government and so then potentially Navy?

Miscellaneous thoughts: the caramel explosion has to be mainly Gus' fault since he's the one that binges on it, right? Either way I winced in sympathy when a drenched Cal sat down. And alien or not, Cal is downright rude. ;p
