Selene - i liked this POV with Selene and Lynus touching base with Impala. i think they will make a really interesting alliance to follow through the Games! the hints toward Selene’s backstory were really neat and i think it’s interesting that she’s kind of fearless, but she acknowledges the consequences of her mindset. i’ll be keeping an eye on her!

Echo - i don’t really vibe with Echo a whole lot here. i give him kudos for thinking Ozzie is a sack of shit, since they are, but i think it’s a little odd that he quickly writes off the rest of his allies without even asking them if they’d be willing to turn against Ozzie. i am almost certain that Echo and Charlotte are not the only two who fucking hate this kid and want to see them dead. there is simply no way3

Creed - Creed!1 my girl! my darling! i’m so glad to be seeing her again! this little moment with her and Dyan was so precious, it had me smiling like a big ole clown. Creed’s reserved nature and kindness are captured so well in this scene. i think this friendship is so good and so wholesome and it’s honestly what Creed deserves instead of the shit show that is the Career Pack. i hope things go well for both her and Dyan. i love them so much.

Terce - an outer-District Career, huh? i don’t know how i feel about Terce. i like how he acknowledges that Ozzie is, again, a living piece of garbage. i think that he is very grounded in his approach to the Games and that he shows quite a bit of intelligence. although, i can’t say i’m thrilled about this whole secondary alliance he’s agreed to be apart of within the Pack. i guess i’ll have to wait and see how it unfolds!

great chapter, as usual! i’m very much looking forward to the next and seeing how you expand on these alliances. i can’t believe we’re already onto the next day of pre-Games. exciting stuff! we’ll be at the Arena in no time!

Ozzie - man, i hate ozzie. not even in a good way, either. i just really, genuinely hate this kid. i don’t like how they talk down to everyone and seem to have this air of conceitedness about them that stems from a place of seemingly nowhere? i don’t know if i’m missing something significant or if this person just kind of is an asshole for the sake of being an asshole. i’m glad omega put them in their place. really not vibing with this character in any way, shape, or form.

Arvid - arvid is a cutie pie. i feel like he is just vibing and trying to navigate through training as best he can. the way that he acquired his first ally was very cute. i think arvid is a character that i will be enjoying throughout the story! he gives me good energy.

Amara - do i smell a ship? do i smell a ship between cerdiwen and amara? much to think about. i like amara’s little struggle with being like “oh no she’s cute ): but this is the hunger games ):”. she seems like a good gal and i’m excited to see where this little alliance goes as the story continues. maybe they’ll collect more allies along the way! maybe they’ll just be gay together! who knows?

Impala - cool ass name having impala is back at it again. i like impala’s forwardness. she doesn’t tiptoe around the point and she cuts right to the chase. that’s a quality i always love in characters. hopefully she can prove herself to Selene and Lynus! i think she stands good odds!

overall, really good training chapter! i like the different perspectives and how they highlight the skillsets of specific characters. i also like how it provides you with a peek at the social game and how well each of them can play it. i’m definitely going to be thinking on who Capitol favorites will be for this batch. can’t wait for the next chapter!

this chapter was so awesome! i loved the range of POVs in this chapter and how it introduced various dynamics between characters! perhaps more, though, i fucking adore Creed's outfit. the way you incorporated her intense love of dinosaurs with her outfit is so god tier! the way i'm imagining her in my mind makes her look so freaking cool! awesome job with the parades, dude!

This was a good chapter. However, i think you defuse the conflicts far too quickly. Like, you could Amber say something menacing to Sarmi, but instead you have Amber saying things like "Its okay" when she clearly says in her head she doesnt want the pity. Also, i thought i made Breccan knew Hera from before, but apparently now she doesnt. I would like that you when you changed something from a form you accepted, that you tell me about it, even if just doesnt fit your verse. Thats all

Well well well, It appears we’ve finally made it to the end of intro hell. Congratulations on making it this far, as it’s probs the worst part of the SYOT writing process. I’m so excited to see how the rest of the story turns out. I’m going to use this review to share my thoughts on all the tributes, as well as the story as a whole and things I’m looking forwards to as it progresses. Overall, I’ve definitely been enjoying Dear Future Self and meeting these characters. Okay… now for my thoughts on everybody.

Echo Fellman (D1M); I really like his name, but unfortunately that’s just about the only thing I like about him. The backstory is cool and all, it just doesn’t give me District 1 vibes, like I still can’t believe he wasn’t caught idk. It doesn’t really matter though because I don’t see two D1M’s winning in a row.

Amber Night (D1F): I actually enjoyed Amber’s character quite a bit. I’m used to that tragic backstory by now, but I’ve never seen it in D1 and I’m curious to see how she lasts in the arena because she has the potential to go far for sure, I just wonder if she will be able to be mentally stable.

Osiris “Ozzie” Dallesandro (D2NB): I’m not going to say much here except that I love how you’re portraying them and I’m so curious to see how they interact with the other careers.

Creed Odinshoot (D2F): Ugh this girl deserves so much better. She’s had such a hard life and it pains me that she’s going to probably die because she’s just such a sweetie. I hope she lives it up in the Capitol before she goes though because she’s a gem. I’m honestly really rooting for Miss Creed,

Lynus Delanova (D3M): Not much to say about him other than I think the robot backstory is cool, but he unfortunately screams bloodbath to me. I’d love to be proven wrong tho.

Selene Taevas (D3F): I LOVE HER! I’ve seen the circus idea before, but it’s always a welcome idea and I’m so excited for her and she def has what it takes to go far and I so hope she does.

Pedro Trujillo (D4M): Oye Pedro err Marcos is a questionable fellow and all I really remember was getting a headache reading his intro because jeez there was a lot there. He seems charming and like he’ll go far because career, but I really can’t see him winning.

Charlotte Babbin (D4F): I rarely see anything about adoption in Panem so this was cool, and Charlotte seems like a nice girl. It’s refreshing to see someone so normal in such a wacky career pack, but I worry about Pedro’s boldness overpowering her.

Revan Allerix (D5): I really liked this little firecracker. He has a lot of good energy that;s really refreshing, and his backstory is so unique, I just love it. I’ll certainly be rooting for him, I just don’t know how far he’ll go.

Zienna “Zen” Mantrogi (D5F): The name Zen is super cool, and I love the whole Yoga thing she has going on. She’s really sassy which is fun, but she’s so baby I’d be surprised if she survives the BB.

Amethyst Colour (D6F): Her backstory is really, really sad, and I feel for her, but unlike some of the other tributes with sad backstories, I don’t see her being able to overcome it which is sad because I really enjoy her.

Impala Westney (D6F): I just wanted to reiterate how much I love the names in this story. Impala is such a cool name and I love that she’s into racing. I’m glad the recap mentioned Lyncus because I could see them being allies if he doesn’t die day one. She’s a fave for sure though.

Arvid Lidstorm (D7M): He’s simple, but I really like that about him. He def seems like he’ll be popular in the Capitol, and I see him making allies quick. He’s a normal dude, but that really isn’t a bad thing and I hope he goes far.

Breccan Holland (D7F): I’m never a huge fan of Peacekeeper’s kids, dead or not, and I think canon said something about Peacekeepers not being allowed kids unless they’ve served for a certain amount of time but also f that I don’t really like her that much anyways but I have to give her some points just for gay rights.

Cassian Thomas (D8M): His whole thing with his brother is interesting, and he def is sort of standoffish which probably hurts his chances in terms of making allies but I get the feeling that he’s hiding something, and there's a lot about him we don’t know yet. I’m excited to learn.

Cerdiwen Cadwallder (D8F): I effin’ love newsies so she automatically ranks high for me, and I like her way more than her District Partner. Will she last long? Probably not, but I really will enjoy everything else I see from her, I have a good feeling.

Dustin Riley (D9M):Normal people aren’t bad, but Dustin feels kind of boring compared to the other normies. It sucks that he was bullied, but oh well buddy shit happens.

Amara Fielder (D9F): Yeah, she’s effin wild ha. I feel bad for her, as she really doesn’t belong in the arena, and her death is probably going to be tragic, but Panem isn’t supposed to be a happy place I guess.

Ardley Barnett (D10M): I’ve already told you this but I absolutely adore Ardley and he’s probs my fave to win at this moment. He’s a really sweetie, and I hope the arena doesn’t eff him too badly because I’d love to see what he’s like as a victor. He’s just such a good boy and I think he can snatch that W.

Farro Rae Clydesdale (D10F): Farro really annoys me to be honest. She’s a bit of a brat and not in a charming way like some other tributes. She gives me BB vibes though so hopefully we won’t have to deal with that for much longer.

Dyan Hopper (D11M): Ugh Dyan is such a good boy and my other favorite to win. Ice Cream Boy is just such a vibe and I see him in it for the long haul. I hope that the Capitolite Ice Cream lives up to his standards LMAOOO

Arugula “Aru” Camworth (D11): Yeah again I love the idea of adoption in Panem and she’s a nice girl. I think the name Arugula is my favorite name here so she gets bonus points for that.

Terce Highwall (D12M): The lanterns are cool and he’s kind of a rebel which is fun. I do love a bad boy and he is just that! Also rooting for him even though I doubt he’ll win but I’m excited to see him grow.

Eden Banks (D12NB): I am glad to see another enby who’s not quite as fucked up as my Ozzie, and I feel bad that their dad is an alcoholic, but like they seem to have potential, though I’m unsure how much.

Okay, at this point I was going to try to do a chart, but I feel like you know how I feel about everyone at this point so I am not going to.

Overall, it has been a treat and I really enjoyed your writing. The only thing that got boring was the amount of ceremonies we had to see, but like I’m super excited to see how the career pack interacts, and I’m curious how the other alliances work out.
