Reviews for Sarah Versus the Two Scoops
FanFicBuff chapter 1 . 7/2
Well, I just had a bad day. Y'know, like dropping both scoops of Rocky Road. On top of having the office notebook not working all day long, and some urgent deadlines looming over me. My gloomy mood wasn't getting better, so I thought to stop by and find something short and sweet.

And there is Steampunk, coming to the rescue with such a sweet little thingie to make the dark clouds go away. Who needs Chuck running for another helping of ice cream when you can have a story by Steampunk that brings the smile back. Thanks once more.

Success. That did indeed make me feel good. Move the wholesome vibes, nothing better when hung over
PurpleAffair chapter 1 . 6/25
This was a sweet one-shot surprise!
It’s certainly difficult to allow a foul mood not bleed into enjoyable moments. I do empathize with Chuck on that.
Sarah has her priorities straight, talking about dessert all through dinner. Same, Sarah. Add to that her gleeful expression. Very hard same. That first lick before the two scoops tragic demise must’ve been delicious because she was quite nice about Chuck’s good hearted laughter. Though she did get him back with “your loss” teasing.
Sometimes ridiculous little things are just what’s needed to laugh off frustration. It’s sweet how much love and adoration flows between the two of them. So much so, that Sarah isn’t aware that her unconscious actions are what lifted Chuck’s mood. And the big sweet nerd goes back to buy a replacement double scoop.
You’re right, it is short compared to your other works but still packs the same addictive punch. I loved this, thank you!

That was cute and reminds me that I want some ice cream! :-)
Thanks SC! And let me know if you want crazy story ideas (if that helps with the block).

Sweet! And look at the reviews! You’re averaging 1 review for every 35 words so far. That’s an impressive ratio.

Isn’t it funny how sometimes we’re having a bad day, something goes terrible wrong, whatever, and then something completely innocuous happens, totally unrelated, that just makes you laugh! Makes all the aggravation and/or anger just go away, if only for a little while.

I can just see the look on Sarah’s face, those blue eyes go wide in shock, then the lines over her nose and right eye deepen as the ice cream splats on the sidewalk. Even a bit of shimmer as a bit of water forms in her eyes at the lost Rocky Road.

Chuck, in all his aggravation, can’t break away from the day’s disappointment long enough to enjoy the evening with his lovely wife, the bright star in his life. His work has once again horned in on his personal life, taken away the joy. And then ... SPLAT ... all that tasty treat right on the ground. That lovely face before him is consumed in anger at the ineptitude of some teenager who can’t build a proper ice cream cone. HILARIOUS! The dam is broken, the day’s events disappear, and all he can do is laugh at her outburst.

Wonderful. Hilarious. Subtle. Perfect.

Now, go teach the poor boy how to make an ice cream cone!

Thanks for bringing this little joy back. Hope it helps break the blockade.

Karen nice happy story. I enjoyed the way you wrote Sarah's eye's lighting up at the anticipation of the Rocky Road cone.

They say laughter is the best cure for a bad day. Maybe , this is what everybody needs.
Feynman1968 chapter 1 . 6/24
That was completely cute. And Sarah’s reaction was so well described that I could picture it so clearly. And truthfully, this was close to things I’ve experienced and scene in real life. Hope you can get past your writers block. Life can mess with our brains something fierce at times. Just like Chucks mood, the harder you fight it the worse it gets. But like all things in life, this too shall pass. All the best.

It was a feelgood story. Strange as it may sound...I liked that they were goig to clean up the falken ice cream. Most people would have left it.

A story from SC is better than 2 scoops.
