LH Wordsmith chapter 7 . 7/29 Sorry I didn't review last chapter! So I'll do both here. 6: AWWWW YEAH I loved Freja's perspective! And backstory! Wow I'm here for this. She's opening up, our girl. And I love the slice of life! Bain and Sigrid are really getting attached to her too. Poor Bard, he's just trying to do his best and the town can make that so difficult for him. 7: OMG WOW I'm really, really, really, really glad you gave him that flaw of anger. That honestly explains so much about him. In the movies, all we have to work off of is that he doesn't want any trouble because he's got to take care of his kids, but having a temper issue would also fit in really well. He can be very abrasive in his actions/words, and anger is a very human flaw and very explanatory for his deeds. That said, I'm also glad that he recognizes it. And an interesting take on his previous marriage! Again, his late wife in the movies isn't mentioned like at all (except to say she's dead) and the lack of it is very easily explained by what you have here. I know I'm rambling a bit here, but you see what I mean. I'm also so very proud of Freja! Not flinching when he gets in her face? Protecting the kiddos? WHAT A QUEEN And then forgiving him? WOW She's doing so well as a mother... now let's get on the wife bit lol. I'm also proud of Bard for recognizing that she has trauma and that he did wrong. Will he bring her a little something to say sorry? I doubt flowers grow in the middle of a lake, but maybe he can find a bit of ribbon or lace or something somewhere. To show Freja it's ok to relax, and that he does appreciate her. AS for the bed incident, I'm a little surprised she didn't put a rolled up blanket between them to help keep distance lol. But good for her! She's clearly more comfortable around Bard than he is around her haha All in all, excellent, well done, et cetera, et cetera. Post soon! LH |
BaconBabe chapter 7 . 7/29 Yeah, it’s good |
BaconBabe chapter 6 . 7/23 Wonderful |
Guest chapter 6 . 7/23 Thank you for the update! |
Guest chapter 5 . 7/21 I really like the build up here, the mysteries keep coming |
BaconBabe chapter 5 . 7/19 I am glad you don’t take forever between chapters. Some authors only write once a month. It makes me forget what I was reading |
LH Wordsmith chapter 5 . 7/18 Omg wow I did shed a tear. But only one. Bard isn’t one for romantic speeches is he? XD that’s alright. They’ll warm up eventually, especially with the kiddos as a buffer. I loved the wedding, especially as we got to meet the famous Kristoff. I hope we see more of him and Stefan and Stefan’s wife. Seem like lovely people. I loved hearing from Freja! I figured she wouldn’t be a stranger to hard work and abuse, what with the way she reacted to things, but I can’t wait for Bard to show her reasons to live. Like flowers. Flowers are an excellent reason to live for. And snowball fights. Lovely work as always my friend! LH |
BaconBabe chapter 4 . 7/15 Lol. Let the bells ring |
Guest chapter 4 . 7/15 Not you indeed. ;) This is so much fun. Thank you for updating! |
LH Wordsmith chapter 4 . 7/14 Lovely work. Certainly a path I was expecting, considering the flak Bard got last chapter about Miss Freja. I also am quite in love with Bain’s absolute certainty that Bard’s real name is ‘Da.’ Can’t wait to see why Bard’s first wife didn’t like the name Sigrid. I also wonder what a Laketown wedding (even one as basic as theirs will be) will be like. I’m sure Bard’s friends will scrape together some sort of “feast” to celebrate it though. Or at least their wives will. Keep up the work! LH |
Xaiael chapter 4 . 7/14 This was unexpected! Hardly wait for more! Love it! |
Katia0203 chapter 4 . 7/14 What could possibly go wrong indeed! I'm thinking once they get to know each other some sparks will start flying! |
LH Wordsmith chapter 3 . 7/7 Thanks for answering my questions! I like your take. Can't wait to see what happens next! I'm also thankful that the gossip spread that fast. I know other writers would have it be slower, but in that town, with those people, that news would be the HOTTEST tea since... well, since Smaug first came, I'd bet lol. I love how you used a Tolkien song. Honestly, I can't blame you. The man was far more creative and talented than I'll ever be, and it's the perfect amount of melodrama and hope. How does he manage to do that? Furthermore, how do you manage to replicate it? Tolkien's stories are all about finding hope in nightmares, light in doom, and... well, I shouldn't wax poetic. We've already established I'm no Tolkien. But you, my friend, you're very good at imitating the master! Excellent as always! Also, be encouraged - 2020 is halfway over! If I ever wanted to write a dystopian novel, I'd base it on 2020. XD LH |
Katia0203 chapter 3 . 7/7 I'm having trouble figuring out the age of the girl. I had assumed she was a young child, maybe 8 or 9, but now it seems as if she's a teenager? Or a young woman? Hoping for some clarification haha. |
Myreesa chapter 3 . 7/7 This is actually the cutest |
