Reviews for A Week in Casablanca
Thomas Linquist chapter 6 . 7/25
Nice take down. Not how I would have played it, but then, I'm just a stupid human (which Zootopia doesn't have) and my decision making process might be dumber. I would have breached the door, thrown in a flash bang and been done with it.

Of course, then we wouldn't have gotten to see amateur hour bounty cat and the trick cuffs.

You know, Nick spent far to much time relying on himself and not having to consider who might be worrying. I'm willing to bet Judy has to call his mother for him.
nslc chapter 5 . 7/25
So we have two criminals who do not seem smart, but maybe are street smart, unfortunately they are in the wrong street.
A small whose life expectancy is very small if his presence is not necessary to retrive the credits.
And a group of lions whose meal is disturbed, maybe so much that this Xander will become dessert.
Thomas Linquist chapter 5 . 7/18
Okay, the title did throw me, and I had to go back to the top for the reason.

I"m not sure which is better, having Xander and co. trapped in the city with their ride in holding, or out in the desert, where, hopefully, they would get lost. He doesn't seem to have thought this through as well as he should have. He's in a gated city he doesn't know, he's unusual to look at, and apparently doesn't have any locals as a guide. So far, he's running solely on those tricks that would work in any city.

The dead weight of a fennec that doesn't necessarily want to be with him doesn't help matters either. He can't move him easily.

"Zen master Bogo..." Somewhere in Zootopia, a water buffalo has just felt a shiver, and is reaching for his heart pills.
nslc chapter 4 . 7/12
Kama Ms Hopps, kama may take a long time but it comes when you do crazy things to pull the fox ashore.

OK. cliff hanger and we have to wait.
nslc chapter 2 . 7/12
After a quick reread of "Who Do You Trust" serie, I now have a better understanding of how Casablanca is part of their 20 year anniversary.

So we have Rick, Sam and... Where's Ilsa? the cold blonde faithful one.
Thomas Linquist chapter 4 . 7/11
So much for deescalation of the situation.

I think all of the worst stuff happens when our heroes actually try to get sleep in order to act later. That and a city like Casablanca would probably be more ripe for a shooting at night. Too many witnesses around during the day, even in the back alleys.

I thought Jay and Djimon got off rather lightly. As long as she can pull up her mother's past, Jay is almost free from harsh sentencing, until she does something seriously stupid. I think that maybe Nick should handle the sentencing phase in any given situation. He's been in some pretty rough spots and knows just how bad she could have screwed things up.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Jay has her claws pretty deep into daddy too. Parents really do need an online arbitrator when punishment needs to be handed down.

All the same, I think, like most officers, Judy has spent more time in court than is strictly healthy for a parent. She immediately lapses into legalese, even when determining which set of combatants is primarily guilty.

I am reminded of the wolf being dragged into the First in the movie, on Judy's first day. "Hey! He bared his teeth first!"
gerbilHunter chapter 3 . 7/9
I had a girlfriend in college who really liked that song. But I think it's by the Starland Vocal band, not Starlight.

Xander is an unexpected complication. And how did Bounty Cat get the lead on him? At least Chase and Aubrey aren't foolish enough to try to take him in on their own.

Min has to know that Djimon is crushing on her. I'm not going to say she's using it, but I'm not going to say otherwise, either.

If Nick and Judy don't find Smalls tomorrow, they'll have a couple of active cases going on in a strange city with the teenagers underfoot to complicate things. Things could go pretty far south, pretty quickly.
Thomas Linquist chapter 3 . 7/4
Yup, Casablanca does seem like the place to get lost in. Minimal electronic footprint. Confusing layout. Police presence stretched real thin. I have a hunch that Aubrey could work out a capture fee and get decent footage on at least one of a dozen individuals with a price on their head, since surely not every fugitive is as dangerous as this killer.

It is fortunate for Nick that Judy is good with regulations and has a relatively level head.

Does every father have this fantasy about locking up his daughter? A kind of Rapunzel complex? Or maybe more of a Princess Fiona dream? Having never had children, I don't know. I have been tempted to arm my nieces now and then, however.
gerbilHunter chapter 2 . 6/28
Min is going to wind up doing something stupid, and Djimon is going to help her do it. I can just feel it coming. Jade will have to either extract them or get her parents to extract them, and it's going to be awkward all around.

It's good to see you not making Aubrey a complete idiot (I almost said "complete jerk", but it's not yet clear that he isn't a complete jerk. Just not a moron). He's bright enough not to push with Jade. And he's straightforward with Nick. Your job to catch crooks, my job to get ratings. And he's apparently trustworthy.

I did think it was kind of pushy for "Rick" to go ahead and assume that Nick and Judy would play at his nightclub. Min was right that being fifteen doesn't mean they should work cheap.

Nice scene setting, development for the upcoming.

Couple of typos: last line should be "worse than". "Convinced the fennec would" should likely be "convinced Nick that the fennec would". "You haven't watch my show" should be "watched".
GhostWolf88 chapter 2 . 6/27
If these two aren't careful, there'll be the pitter-patter of another kit around the Wilde household...
Thomas Linquist chapter 2 . 6/27
Min is simply one irrepressible young female, and now she's got a hormone influenced male who will take her side, regardless of what she proposes. That and the thought of a possible ten thousand credit carrot. (Pardon the bad joke.) A couple more run ins with the television bounty hunter (And for some reason, when I type that I suddenly get an image of Dom Deluise from the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, rather than Lee Majors from Fall Guy.) and trouble is bound to follow.

Odd that Skip is more worried about Nick. Given the relative track records, I'd be far more leery of crossing the bunny.

I forgot to mention it last chapter, but I do hope that Francine does develop a bit more decorum as a Captain. Giggling from the office just doesn't appear seemly.

Funny that. Skip wants to charm the girls into talking Nick and Judy into an interview. The girls want to use him like a blood hound looking for Smalls. What was that you wrote in another story... "Some of them want to use you..." lol
gerbilHunter chapter 1 . 6/22
Min has seen way too many Disney movies where the kids are cool and clever and think outside the cubicle and catch the bad guy and win the grudging applause of their elders.

Nice nod to Rule 34.

Is the act at the pawnshop actually fooling anybody? Come to think of it, I don't think an animal with Duke's record could run a pawnshop in most places. Since it's money lending, there are all kinds of licenses and governmental interference involved. But Zootopia undoubtedly has a more forgiving, less punitive approach to these things than most US states.

Nice setup. I'll be interested in what befalls the young ladies as they go forth and conquer.
z chapter 1 . 6/20
algo me dice que van a aprender a no subeestimar el trabjo de judi y nick
Muzzlehatch chapter 1 . 6/20
Fox and Bunny are tough. Should put them on a statue protection team somewhere.
Thomas Linquist chapter 1 . 6/20
And this is why you never take your kids on a working "vacation". The simple fact that Jade is Nick and Judy's kid only makes this worse. Her optimism and his slickness, never a good thing in one person. I don't recall too much about Jay, but I wager she spends half her time grounded.

On the other paw, it was Min that even brought up the idea.

I wonder if Finnick has any family out at one of the oasis. It is fennec country after all.
