Oh YESSSS! This is wonderfully whumpy and I love that! Whoa, and then you had Jack come back for some comfort and Mac crying into his shirt! I'm dying and I'm enjoying every moment of it!

To be honest, I don't need ANY shipping on the show. Romance isn't my thing in general and especially the way they're doing it on MacGyver makes me cringe. It feels forced and awkward and just... wrong. I wish they'd just leave that to the fanfic writers... ;)
I'm with you when it comes to Desi, though. I like her, really. She has great potential, but NOT as Mac's girlfriend! This relationship isn't good for either of them, it's toxic and just adding to the emotional stress.
When Desi was first introduced and was reluctant to be friends with the team, I was like 'yesss! She has to find her place in this dysfunctional wolf pack and I'll love to watch her gradually grow first into the team and finally into the family!' I was getting ready for some painstakingly slow trust-building, preferably throughout an entire season or something, and was sooooooooo excited for it, but then... they messed it up in the worst possible way, if you ask me. Ah well, just my humble opinion... ;)

I know I so miss Jack. I wasn't as interested once he left and when Russ came aboard... and the time jump. I still cant get into Desi totally. And now add Russ... it just doesn't have the same feel. This is why I look for stories with Jacks name. But good thing for riley knowing what or who for that matter Mac needed. She knows him almost as much as Jack. And that is why they would make a better couple.

I loved it. Jack coming back was the best part. And of course Riley knowing what Mac needs as always.

I totally agree with 4.13 being wrapped up a bit too neatly which I’m figuring had to do with cutting the season short due to the pandemic. I like Desi as well just not for Mac, they don’t feel like A good fit. I do love the chemistry between Mac and Riley. You did great with this story and trying to tie up the loose ends and flushing those feels out a bit. Great job all around. Not sure if you have more planned but bravo all around.
