Wow, that was way different than I expected. XD

Well, I'm not sure I even feel qualified to review this since I haven't read what it's building off of, but I'll do my best! Feel free to take my thoughts with a grain of salt. ;)

Well, Kai thinks wrong. It's Seliel. ;P

I didn't have an issue with the continuity (I just imagined the whole thing in a hypothetical scenario and it made enough sense to me) but what *was* jarring was the leaping from present tense to past tense. It seems at the end you settled more on past tense, but there were several times I noticed jumped randomly into present tense. For example: "Kai cracked a slight smile at her, finally feeling at ease for everything he's done. Even if this is the end, he's glad he was able to make up with Nya."

Artistically, my main problem was that Kai was far too aware of what was going on for someone who was dying of blood loss, especially with impossible to know details like, "the blood was overwhelming his respiratory system."

As for the story itself, I think I was able to follow. Let me know if I got this right. In this version, Master Wu is secretly an abusive dictator, while teen girl squad (who is Nya, Skylor, Pixal and Seliel [led by Garmadon?] is trying to stop him. Wu is working with Chen, and Kai is persuaded by Skylor to turn on his brothers since they're working for Wu. Kai's betrayal in both instances however, was completely lost on me. :( Since that's the core of the entire story, I feel like that should be clearer, otherwise Kai's guilt falls flat.

As always, I had some nitpicks but I'll only go into those if you want to hear them. :P All in all, I thought it was well written for the most part, and I like that you got Kai's natural drive to protect nailed. :)

Woah... I think my heart was in my chest this entire time. I was also thinking of writing a Dark Sides Au (centered around Skylor and Seleil, I'm not trying to steal your spotlight (which you greatly deserve)). This was FANTASTIC, gripping, and soul moving. I look forward to your other works!
