I just want to say that this chapter was great. It's interesting. And I'm glad you're a Black Lives Matter Supporter! I am black, and that means a lot to me. :) Also, the pandemic has really changed everything for the world, hasn't it? But I know we will make it through this.

Great final chapter! Damn their habit of assuming what the other is feeling rather than asking; I was mentally screaming so many times in the early part of the chapter. Glad these two talked in the end, and that they truly opened up and told each other what they wanted. Loved that they got together in the end, and that they said they loved one another. :)

Looking forward to the next snapshot next week, and IC3 the following week! And happy to hear the news about The Missing Years; looking forward to that coming back! :)

Oh, this story looks like it's going to be good! I haven't had time to read lately, I'm sorry. I also didn't respond to the epilogue on your other story. It was AMAZING! I am so glad you have another story written! :)

Claire’s clearly missing the relaxation and venting about work that came with her arrangement with Owen. Interesting butterfly effect/chaos theory aspect to consider. Would Paddock 11 have been as stressful to manage AND would she have forgotten her rain jacket/umbrella if she was still seeing Owen? The world will never know. Ah, to favorite shoes getting greater consideration than an umbrella. Always a set-up for disaster.

Great visual of Claire moving the motorcycle in the rain and mud. Kind of her to use the kickstand, too, rather than letting it fall back onto the ground. Awww to the memory of his weight on her as a sweet (but also hot) way to break the tension in this dramatic scene. SO good that Claire can admit she liked it. How awkward (but awesome and chuckle-worthy) for Owen to keep batting Claire away from checking his head for a bump. Although Claire was able to focus on Owen on the side of the road and somewhat forget about the rain, I’m happy she’s “back to normal” and upset over the damage to her car’s seats.

LOL to Owen’s reaction to her cursing. Makes me wonder what she exclaimed during sex or how they spoke of the act when making plans (I guess they said little). Loved the comment about them both relishing pushing back even more because they were on opposite sides. Great tidbit about their dynamic (and being well-matched). Then, you gotta hit me with a dagger to the heart tangent to cut off my moment of happiness. It’s always pleasure and pain in the best angst stories. Poor Claire ruminating on being easy while actively trying not to be a weak woman.

LOL to Claire not even trying to hide her horror at the idea of feeding the raptors. This entire battle between them is great, especially Owen *starting* to reference his weight on her in the past. Her reaction to the whole experience, especially hiding the eye roll and groan and then musing her thanks about not being caught on camera, was gold. Such a nice bonding experience for the two of them and proof of their “mutual respect.”

The beginning to this story is awesome. Perfect to begin in a middle place and create an irresistible hook. This line gets me every time, an idea I’ve read (and written) before but put so eloquently hereThe one place where the worries of the day seemed unable to follow, and where whatever mask he’d felt the need to wear finally fell away.”

Claire’s recollections of the first meeting with Owen feel absolutely in canon (your description may be my new HC for the films), especially her musing about Owen teaching her his tricks. Their interactions the morning after seem equally in character and probably my favorite description of this oft-written scenario. It has a sweetness that most others lack. LOL to the tug of war for the bedsheet. My heart broke a little at “force of habit,” but it felt right all the same.

I just lost myself in your description of their adrenaline soaked arguing and later kissing. I just want to keep typing that this story is so perfect, and I love it. You’ve not only proven that you can push your boundaries and write intimacy but that you can write it very well. It’s not cliche, mushy, or cringe-inducing. It’s simply wonderful. I am basking in the beauty of it, and I especially like how you had Claire pull him back for a quick kiss, asserting her control.

Poor Claire, to have Zara laughing at her and prompting the “split.” This nonlinear narrative works great. It adds a layer of melancholy to all the good things Claire got out of her arrangement with Owen. It allows readers to better understand her wanting to end it and keeps a consistent tone with the opening. On the flip side, it also lets readers know that there is hope for an HEA, keeping us invested in the chapters to come and rooting for them as a couple. Thanks (as usual, another reliable consistently in your stories) for highlighting Owen’s intelligence in her musings. When she *does* leave, I’m genuinely emotional and feeling so sad for her (and Owen, wondering how he must’ve felt waking up alone). It’s hard for *me* not to burst into tears, too.

I’m glad Claire takes ownership of her cop-out and dumb argument. One of my favorite tropes is when one member of the couple schools their expression, and the other projects their own insecurities about the status of the other’s feelings. So relatable. Also relatable, Claire’s inability to form words after that. Knife to the heart.

Another good chapter! Glad Claire managed to wake Owen up and temporarily get his focus back, even though his condition went bad again. Funny when Claire accidentally said she could help Owen with going to the bathroom. Glad Claire was finally able to talk to Lowery and that he sent a helicopter to help them. Hope Owen will be okay. And damnit Claire; Owen told you (albeit while delirious, but I think that would back it more likely to be the truth) that he missed you, yet you're turning it back to him not caring enough to want to be with you.

Good chapter! Looking forward to seeing what happens in the last chapter!

Another great chapter! Enjoyed all the humorous bickering between Claire and Owen over the clothing situation. That was amusing. :) Feel bad for them at the end though, with Owen getting a fever. Was hoping he'd be okay despite all that rain, but it's not surprising that he'd get sick from that, especially after lying in that puddle. Hope he and Claire will be okay.

I am enjoying this story very much. While I have been following and liking your stories for a long time, I am not a huge fan of angst. That being said, however, your stories are so well thought out and written that I eagerly await each installment. While I wish that you could post more often, I understand that the attention to detail that you put into your stories render that impossible, (and you have a life). I appreciate that you adhere to a regular posting schedule and look forward to each and every new chapter. I must admit that I let them build up for a few weeks and devour them all at once. (I'm a pig, don't judge me.) Am looking forward to your new Snapshot companion. Owen and service dog training sounds like a good way for him to find balance. I apologize for not reviewing sooner, but in my defense I am a Luddite and have arthritis. That said, please keep writing, It makes my day.

Another great chapter! Didn't see that coming. Glad Owen seems okay besides his knee, and that Claire managed to get him out of the rain. Hope neither of them gets sick from all that cold and rain. Good that the raptors were fed in the end. Looking forward to seeing what happens with Claire and Owen next.
