I liked Pavlov's relationship. I think it was super nondramatic and realistic and I liked the way the two of them were portrayed and interacted. He's not my favorite so far but I like Pavlov. I'd like him more if I understood why he volunteered. That part left me really confused.

I liked Ariadne even more. While the parent victor thing is overdone, I like seeing it from an outlier district and I'm interested in seeing it play out.

-District Seven-
Pavlov - Him having a boyfriend is alright, gives Pavlov some kudos, but Pavlov having twin siblings... I feel like that's a bit overused. Overall, it seems like he's had a rather average life.

Ariadne - Okay... Strange, legacy children have also been overused. Victor father and her training are pretty cool and I'm sure that'll get her a good score, but I've seen characters like she and I can't help but feel like it's a bit redundant.

Oh I love all three of these characters! They're all pretty interestingweird backgrounds that is. Pavlov with a conspiracy theorist doomsday pepper kind of family, Ariadne being the daughter of a Victor and of course the rebel escort! She's like my favorite already haha!

PavlovNow I need to see more of his personality! He seems like an extremely sweet kid and I love the little cute thing he has Goin in with his boyfriend. I'm guessing that's who he volunteered for... That's so terribly sad. I love how I read stories in this Fandom, and am always like "y is this sad". My my.
Now I'll have to see how he interacts with others and the like but I'm rooting for him to do well. I'm a sucker for a cute couple like that so he may have my heart. I am undecided but I definitely like him. Also I love the crossbow sm.

Adriane- Oh this will interesting! A Victor as a father?! I'm assuming he's mentoring too. That's lowkey also terribly sad. Now he has ro basically escort his daughter to her likely death. I mean she could very well for all I know but ya know. She also seems like a nice gal. I'll be sad if/when she dies. Once again, I'm getting suprised at the emotional connection to these damn characters. Such a bad genre to get attached to characters

oh, man. i absolutely loved this chapter. i think Pavlov is a good character who shows a lot of promise and i sense he's pretty handy with that crossbow—however, i do find myself curious as to how he learned to use it and why he volunteered. that'll definitely be interesting to find out more about! hopefully he and Ariadne will work well together!

i think you did an awesome job with Adne. you captured her prickly exterior so well, while also demonstrating the times where she is able to soften up a bit and allow her squishy interior to show to those she is closest to. i like how you incorporated the most important people in her life into her chapter and breathed so much life into them. her relationship with Marlow felt good and fun and i think it really highlighted the contrast between the two of them. her relationship with Calyptis and Calyptis' natural mom energy felt so genuine and wholesome, which i absolutely loved—as well as the hinting of Ariadne's little crush on her. i also really appreciated the tidbit at the end where you showed her mother's care for her and how she worries about her daughter. you've done such a wonderful job in just one chapter alone and i'm looking forward to seeing what lies ahead! keep up the amazing work!

Pavlov: I wonder if he has a dog! (Reads on) Nope doesn't seem like it. Hmm I have conflicting views on him. On one hand I don't fault him for wanting to be a teen and get out and he was nice to do his chores but he seems to just bail on his family and then talk bad about his parents and wanting to move out even though they seem pretty awesome and loving. I feel like he's lucky to be home-schooled honestly. He wouldn't get along so well in public school most likely. He will probably be a strong tribute though based on height and crossbow experience. I really don't understand at all why he volunteered though. Seems he has no good reason to me.

Ariadne: I hope I don't get her and Adrienne mixed up. Her name seems to almost be a word jumble of the other. OMG a Hollie sighting. That made me like this PoV even more! I'm curious how old her friend is, I guess Hollie would only be 19 so maybe she'd be interested haha. Anyways, Ariadne sounds like she has a good friend group and I enjoyed the scenes with them. She also seems like a bada$$. I'm guessing she wasn't going to volunteer but just wanted to be prepared which is the only reason she gave into her dad. I could be wrong though. Also the victor's daughter is an interesting angle for a D7 tribute. I normally think it's overdone but I like it for her.

Ahhh another Hollie sighting in the same chapter. I'm excited she seems to be one of the mentors. I mean I guessed she would but I'm glad it's confirmed. I'd guess she'd mentor Ariadne which will be fun!

Pavlov. He and Aries are probably the cutest couple I've read in a SYOT for a long time. Pavlov seems like a nice guy, and I'm honestly really hoping that he wins. He seems great.
Ariadne. She comes across as cocky and confident, which could help her get sponsors for the Games. I like how she goes about things, in an almost relaxed and nonchalant manner.

Wow okay, so I'm absolutely in love with Pavlov, you've gotten the true wild nature of his parents down very well. Hopefully his parent's teachings will help him in the arena.

Finally some reviews posted so I'm less confused. Ah and it's Avery's chapter! I'm glad to see everyone seems to like him so far.

Torrent: I'm not sure what to think of her yet. She kind of seems wild and irresponsible, even for a 12 year old. I'm surprised she even cares that she stole from a victor since he didn't seem to notice her. She'd done crazier things it sounds like. All she'd have to do is clean her prints off the wallet and find somewhere else to put it. She's going to be interesting to follow but she'll be a neutral right now. I do like that she's fast though. This might be the fastest D11 pair in HG history. Also a random note, those kids have some really odd names. Who names their kids after storms? And Torrent sounds like she should be a boy IMO. Oh well, its still pretty cool.

Avery: Ah, I loved this chapter. You stuck very close to what I submitted about Avery but it ended up being even better and more fun than I imagined. I hope everyone understand I submitted him more for fun than for a potential victor and that his strength of being an every day superhero comes with the weakness of caring too much for the downtrodden. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him win but I also understand he has weaknesses. I just hope he lasts a while because I think he'll be so much fun in the arena, especially if you write him as well then as you have done now.

If it wasn't for Saul I'd probably have the most liked and least liked tributes on here so far. Also, moving Letitia to love since I mistakenly put her to like last time.

District 11!

Torrent is funny. Although her thievery and trickery is not new, I still had a lot of fun reading her portion. I honestly liked the section with her family a lot too. It was cool for me to see such a big family dynamic. I really enjoyed how all of her family's names follow a weather themed code.

Avery is probably the strongest outlier we've seen so far, he also has real life or death fighting experience which I think could be interesting when he matches up against the careers. I'm not sure how I feel about him as a character but he's definitely a candidate to go far. I like his moral code and such we'll just have to see.

Torrent - Ain't she just a little troublemaker! XD Stealing tractors and Victor's wallet. Least she likes to live her life to the fullest.

Avery - He's a pretty decent guy. A sensible head in his shoulders when he reported a fight to a peacekeeper. Maybe not as exciting or dramatic as others, but l like enough.

Cassian - Okay, I've been hearing or reading really people saying 'woman in the kitchen' shit a bit more than I'd like to this month, and I did not expect this from this chapter and now I'm real fucking pissed at Cassian's shitbird father. Cassian looks like he's had a difficult time with family and apparently, he has to keep his sexual preference secret out of fear. His reason for volunteering makes me root for him since I want him to escape his father aid he wins.

Sabrina - Okay she's Muslim, and that seems all that's going for her. She has a nice family and a good friend. If anything, I'm just wondering about how religion would be handled in Panem. I wouldn't think they would care much.

Torrent: A little thief. Honestly I normal like thieves, but this little girl is doing it to get candy. She's robbing innocent people so she can have CANDY. I get coming from a big family and all but seriously?! She does have a fiery soul and rebellious attitude. The way she ran when her name was call won't go over well with sponsors but I'm excited to see her in action. She does seem small and agile and could last a long time so we'll just have to sit back and wait.

Avery: ooh a volunteer! From District 11! I mean I get it, his best friend was reaped and he wanted to save him. It does make sense and honesty just makes me like him more. I like his attitude and defender of the innocent vibe. He stands up for what is right and seems to have a very strong sense of morals. His prior knowledge of weapons will definitely come in handy in the arena, not to mention he's fast. I feel like he could last long and I'm very excited to see more of him.

Cassian: I really like him! His dad is absolutely awful and very sexist. I feel Cassian's pain as he's faced with a huge decision. Either volunteer for a death match or be disowned by your own father. Yikes. Well, he does seem a bit emotional and sensitive, which isn't typical for a career. Actually will he go with the careers? He's a volunteer, yes, but hasn't had training so I guess not. I see him going far with his determination and perseverance.

Sabrina: I like her even more! Another writer! But this one's a career, who seems pretty skilled. She obviously has quite the imagination and seems to daydream often. But when it comes to training she seems pretty confident. She has a lot of leadership skills which makes me wonder if she'll be the one controlling the career pack. Either way I've never seen a muslum tribute but am loving it. It's cool to see all the different cultures that come into a story.

Calvin: ooh an artist! I love him. He's waaaay to sweet and innocent for these games. Both him and Letitia have similar backstories so I think they'll get along pretty well, alliance I'm not so sure about but hey, anything could happen. All his interactions are pretty cute and each show a little bit about him. He definitely doesn't like to be held down and works well under pressure. He values knowledge as well as friendship and hold the people that matter to him close.

These two are actually pretty cool! Different than the usual District eleven tributes, that's for sure!I'm really excited how both of them interact with the other tributes- a troublesome thief and a wealthy vigilante... Ya don't see that every day!

Torrent- I will admit, I find her annoying. Like I understand she probably needs to steal given she's in a crappy outer district but from old people! Wrong... Well, she's gonna pay for that when she gets too the train and meets the mentor she pickpocketed. I'm excited to see how she deals with that LOL. Good luck girl, you'll be needing it. I'm sure she'll perform better than most kids her age in the games though. She's independent, seems strong-willed, and is quite obviously a witty trouble maker. I'm calling mid games.

Avery- Now he seems interesting! I definitely like him better than Torrent. I typically have a love-hate relationship with the vigilante archetype but given the circumstances in Panem, I definitely think the idea is warranted. YOU ARE VALID AVERY WILKINS AKA NIGHTHAWK. I bet he's gonna be a total badass in the arena. He's obviously familiar with having to use weapons to beat people up, but the killing will probably be not his alley. He's obviously a super good guy, volunteering for his friend like that. I mean I'd guess he has a better chance at surviving anyhow so like go off I guess king.
