So, somehow I failed to notice the tense you're writing in in chapter one but it did make itself known in this chapter. I'm not particularly fond if it, but it's not the worst choice either. And your otherwise flawless sense of style and wonderful vocabulary more than makes up for it.

I wonder how the conversation between Dumbles and Harry went. The conversation between Dumbles and Snape was wonderful! It really showed both of the wizards for who they are. And in a canon way. I loved it! And the internal struggle Snape is dealing with already is a thing of beauty.

I can already tell that this is going to be a masterpiece.
Your sentences flow and fold, unlike anything I've ever read before. I loved the feeling of dread slowly seeping from Snape. So slowly, in fact, that at first, I didn't quite understand what was going on. But in a good way! It made the realisation of why Snape was acting that way all the better. That's what makes the place you started this story in so brilliant as well. You just took us somewhere and made us discover for ourselves just what exactly was going on. Oh God, this was exquisite! I truly wish there was more for me to enjoy but we all have to start somewhere.
And the way you ended this chapter! My dear, you had me gasping involuntarily at that. Extraordinarily well done. I have nothing negative to say. It was all wonderful.
I could keep telling you how much I loved it but I'm afraid that I would just repeat myself.

Good start. I admit I have a fondness for the Snape rescues Harry stories. I’m fine with some cliches but I’m hoping Harry won’t end up looking at Snape through his fringe or acting like he’s 5 years old. You don’t seem to be that type of writer though.
