Not a lot to say about this chapter other than maybe there's hope for Raoul (and his relationship with his bride) yet. If he puts as much effort into changing his behavior as Erik undoubtedly will, then perhaps he *will* succeed.

My goodness, if Erik is *this* concerned about Christine's impulsive nature and open affection towards others, it doesn't seem to bode well for their future together. She seems to be seeking safety and he seems to be desperate for her (frankly, anyone's) love. (Of course, that's a given with almost any Erik.) Not a very good foundation for a marriage.

Thank goodness he seems to feel the same. If he is that determined to change so their relationship doesn't eventually break down, then I have no doubt he will succeed. Perhaps Christine will mature a bit as she gets older and eventually grow out of her impulsiveness.

And Jules! Not only giving up precious time with his daughter, but contemplating divorce from his wife?! That's both sad and a little disturbing. Especially what he thinks of Annette's mothering skills.

I'd say Jules is growing up, too. ;D

Raoul got what he deserves from Emma a cold shoulder and a severe tongue lashing as well. I like her she is to good for him especially when she told him to leave Christine and the baby alone. Good chapter more please *cookies for inspiration and the great work*

A good chapter, Erik is nervous letting Jules alone with Christine and Jules thinks so too. Jules doesn't want Annette back only his children because he isnvt sure she would really care for them having knowledge how she treated Charlotte because where she was born. Maybe we should switch to her and what is going on and what her brother has to say about it leaving little Charlotte all alone there. I didnvt know that it was illegal in France to get divorced is it still so?.

Lol! Erik is concerned that Christine could be spending her days with a "bachelor?" That's amusingly hypocritical of him – the bachelor with whom she is living. XD

I absolutely LOVE the big kiss Erik gave Christine before leaving, and was amused by Jules' embarrassment. Red faces can be so much fun. ;D

Squealing feels wrong somehow for Louise. She seems too mature to do something so girlish. Perhaps it's because she's been married for a few years and has a child.

And Christine is "hoping" to be in a (wedding?) dress? What else would she wear, one of Erik's suits? Or better yet, nothing at all? A *nudist* wedding! Man, I'd give my eye teeth for someone to write *that*! Lol!

And woo hoo for Louise's news! Perhaps there will be *two* little girls vying for Gustave's attention when he gets a bit older. ;)

"When I finished, I approached (Jules) as he stood yawning . . ." (Otherwise it sounds like you're referring to Gustave.)

Sorry it took so long to get this to you. Didn't feel well yesterday, and spent *hours* playing Pokemon Go today. Well, technically yesterday and the day before since it's after midnight now. Lol!

Love the way Emma told Raoul exactly how he had hurt others. I hope he heeds her warning about leaving Christine and the baby alone. Erik wouldn't be happy. He would make good on that threat. Cant wait for wedding and thanks for the new chapters today!

Yay for Emma! Raoul does seem to have a habit of taking a good thing and pooing on it. Lets hope he listens to her advice for everyone's sake! Great chapter.

Good for Emma, she has put Raoul well and truly in his place and hopefully that will be enough to deter him from seeking out Gustave in the future. We can hope anyway!

What a treat, 3 chapters in 24 hours . Glad Jules and Erik were able to readdress the situation but even more glad that Emma is fighting back. Her reclaiming her strong will after what Raoul did to her is lovely to see and her analysis of him, definitely hit its mark. Still worrying that Raoul's first reaction/solution was to consider gaining custody of Gustave. That boy just doesn't think!

Jules and Erik seem to be on the same wavelength regarding the impropriety of Jules spending all day alone with Christine. He possibly remembers the fear he had of Erik pre detox and maybe realizes that Erik could harbor strong feelings about Jules spending time alone with his soon to be wife.
I am surprised Jules has made up his mind so quickly about not wanting Annette back but then what she did to Charlotte was unforgivable. Looking forward to the wedding, after all they have both been through they deserve some happiness. Hopefully Raoul won’t make an appearance to try to spoil it !

Wonderful to have 2 chapters in one day! And moving the story along nicely, I think readers are relieved that Jules is having second thoughts about the arrangement (we figured that Erik would, too), and hopefully they can make the revised schedule work for approximately 5 months more for Charlotte's sake. But we really need the 2 weeks to pass so E&C get married. I still keep thinking that Gustave's deformity will figure in the plot somehow...Raoul only knows Christine has a son but not about the deformity, and if Raoul should ever get his nerve back up and pursue custody, it seems relevant that Erik is also deformed albeit differently. In any event, I am looking forward to the wedding and happy conclusion.
