I love this idea so much. I've been wanting to read a story where Gai saves Neji for years. To see him stepping up and helping the others too? It's such a cute idea. I've never seen it done before the story, so I'm excited to read more once it's released.

I've never thought about the possibility of a special holiday circling the heroic actions of the fourth Hokage. It's sad to see it turn into an attack on poor Naruto, but it makes sense that it could. Those damn villagers have no idea that they're burning their heros son. It's sad, but I hope Naruto can be safe soon, now that Gai knows what's going on.

It's also a great idea to think what might have happened if it had been Gai to rescue them both. Since the nin isn't dead from Hinata's kidnapping, there won't be any call for revenge from the cloud ninja. I'd imagine, anyway. I hope this means Neji and Hinata will be safe now that Gai has them on his raidar. They deserved better in the canon. I just hope they'll live a better life in this story.

As for Kakashi, I wonder what he'll think of this all. It's sweet that Gai is so worried about them. Maybe Kakashi can be their uncle figure lmao. That'd be cute. But really, whatever you decide would be awesome lmao.

Hinata and Neji's relationship is so pure. Poor Hinata thought he was dead, she must have been heartbroken. Plus, the way Neji lept to her defense is so cute. I love how you have the relationships layed out.

okay, nice. 2.5k words for the first chapter is very good. fights are more brutal, and kumo nin should not be alone neither should guy, but its acceptable. though guy could have thrashed the kumo nin, not a single hit is downpowering him, but still good display of skill. cool
