I think you should consider having Harry apprenticeship under Tonks. It could be that she doesn't want to become just a regular Auror but rather Auror Instructor so her further education could be a mix of training and teaching. I can imagine a summer camp at Hogwarts where all candidates are evaluated and Nym is paired with Harry. You could f.e. have them live in a tent for a time, inscribe runes on stones to create some wards, gather food, teach each other. Harry could know how to pick wood, create fire in non magical way, she could show him some spells and how to create rudimentary foci. There could be a fight with an "enemy" - a conjured animal controlled by Moody, some tracking, abduction scenario, etc.

The thing is the AI Course could take a few years to complete. Dumbledore could use is influences to have Aurors, Unspeakables, Hogwarts' teachers working together and it could be called Alternative Auror Academy Program. That way Harry could share his time between the school and the forest. Also each Auror trainee-junior pair could be assigned to a single Master Auror and only he should know about their identities. They should be given concealing hooded robes with magical tiaras or something like that.

Hmm, you could even write Snape unknowingly liking Harry that way, they could even become friends. By liking I mean he could appreciate how dedicated to learning he is and even see resemblance to himself. Of course before that Nym should teach Harry occlumency.

Think about it, the story has potential but it would be nice to go AU rather than repeating happenings from the books.

I'll be honest the troll incident was kinda... meh for me, but that may be because Tonks hadn't been involved. I do look forward to Tonks' reaction when she learns what happened though. That'll be fun.

The best part about this whole thing story is the lie Tonks has build won't last past this year as her younger self would vanish with her which would get him asking questions and he'd quickly learn there was no girl in the school matching his friend.

I can't wait to see what happens when Harry learns the truth. At least the only thing Tonks is really lying about is her age

This chapter was great but I'm really expecting more interaction between Harry and Nym for the next one. And the relationship between the canon golden trio is very well managed, as is how Snape reacts to the troll situation

A solid start, definitely a unique twist on a common idea- I look forward to the coming clean moment- don’t feel rushed at all, let it slow burn through book 1!

Great start to a story, and I think i can see where you are going to go with this. Look forward to reading more.

Loving this so far. Kinda worried about how/when tonks is going to come clean. Somehow I can't help but picture her getting distracted in some fluffy moment between the two of them and accidentally changing back to her normal appearance without even realizing at first.
The only fics I've read so far that this sort of approach put me in mind of are Mentordora Tonks, by jlluh and Harry Potter and the Trials of Lordship by StevenTLawson. I look forward to seeing where you go from this enjoyable start.
