HOW DO YOU KEEP MAKING ME FEEL FOR EVERYONE?! Nora, I understand. Hancock, I understand. Danse...?
If I'm being honest, Danse is a character I never really thought much about. I guess it's because Brotherhood of Steel antics throughout the series are "whatever" to me. At worst, they're Fallout 3's portrayal and at best it's like New Vegas where they're not a main force of power.
Like now I'm actually concerned that Danse is going to come between Nora and Hancock in a really unfortunate way. He doesn't come off the as the type to try and steal someone's partner, but what happens if Nora is further drawn to the memory of Nate projected onto Danse?
I'm actually genuinely concerned this story will reach a point where Nora comes on to Danse, Danse has to hurt her feelings and feel terrible, Hancock has to witness all this somehow and Hancock is driven to force himself to settle with some other person because it's either more or less dramatic than being alone forever (can't really tell which).
I mean... What else am I supposed to think? The amount of times the ring is mentioned already made me think it's leading up to a point where it's taken off for a one night stand.
Maybe I'm just looking for drama where it's not even going.
The thing is: I personally can't consume media where the main mood is depression. I just can't a plot where everyone's fucking dying, the universe conspires against someone having just 1 friend or finding love, ect. So if this story does go in a direction like that, my heart might not be able to take it.
And that would be my way of complimenting you because sometimes people intentionally make depression-filled stories where nothing's ever fine but they lay it on too thick. Never a break. Never a moment to focus on a problem. Then it becomes too crazy to take seriously. And I think you do it more subtle.
But hey, maybe I'm speculating things that won't even happen. This review's probably going to age badly, but hey that's just how life goes.

Just want you to know that I've been reading this story, and Smiles and Laughter as well. I definitely should have reviewed either story by now; let you know how much you've got me on the edge of my seat each time a chapter ends. This chapter? No exception. And maybe this shitty year has got me sentimental or whatever, but I felt for the characters here. Of course Nora would wake up, and she has to cope with losing her world a 2nd time. What about the squad? They all might have different ways of solving problems, but they can come together to help Nora so they've got to feel rough. Then we get to Hancock, and I'm just whispering aloud: "goddamn".
You write like how I wish I could, I guess that's the best way I can say it. Not a lot happens in some chapters, but the character interaction is very interesting. You do good work. It might be too soon to say it, but I respect it. God, I hope that's not as awkward as it looks when I see it typed.
So yeah, my attention's been hooked. The shipper in me wants to hope that Nora and Hancock will fall for each other all over again at some point, but at the same time I need to curb that hope. That's not what it's all about, I mean there's obviously many more things to address.
