kerrowe chapter 4 . 7/4 Donkey Joke. Hahaha. I do kinda like how actiony Doctor seems to have become. The grapple hook really helps a lot with that stuff. The idea of Amiya hitching a ride on the grappling Doctor seems cool too. Dungeons huh? Will W or other Operators catch doctor going out to run through those? Good time to bond through adventure. Ha. I think Ophiuchus' special ability can be quite powerful if it can get a healing spells that restores more to himself than how it can damage him. An infinite battery with the limit being the doctor's ability to withstand the pain that starting that loop causes... getting stronger and new skills might let that happen. Though he's not at that point yet to customize and tweak it like that. It bothers me slightly seeing the terms HP and SP used in dialogue a bit when outside of the author notes. If only because they're game terms without an actual game system in the narrative of sorts for those terms to be used without confusing people. Though I think Stamina and energy or good substitutes. Minor bother. Think Sanity potions would be a better alternative to using soda for SP/energy back though? Heh. Liked the chapter. |
Guest chapter 4 . 7/1 so Skullshatterer confidant next? |
Cryocene chapter 4 . 6/30 While I appreciate the chapter and find it quite nice, I can't help but disapprove of how your Doctor copies Joker so blatantly. Third Eye is supposed to be Joker's unique ability: obtained from HIS Fool Confidant with the Velvet Room. Neither Persona 3 or Persona 4 Protagonist can even hope to have Third Eye (though they may get Personas with similar abilities), and neither should the Doctor. And the grappling hook is a fairly blatant reference to Persona 5 Royal - though the rest of the chapter and your decisions regarding the plot is okay, the way you copy things straight from Persona 5 are, I must say, shameless. The Doctor shouldn't be a cheap copy of Joker. I'd advise you refrain from doing so in the future chapters. But in any case~ keep up the good work otherwise! |
King of Plot Bunnies chapter 4 . 6/30 Is it really necessary to bold so many terms? Bold text should really only be used to emphasize important terms you don't want your readers to miss. Using it it excessively causes it to lose its meaning. Bold text catches the reader's attention, causing them to focus on the word that is bolded. This causes the flow of your sentences to be interrupted when the reader has to constantly pause to look at a bolded word. A character's name shouldn't be appearing in bold when they have a major presence in a scene. If you must bold, try limiting it to a character's first appearance in a scene and switch to normal text thereafter. The same can be applied to locations. We don't need to see Lungmen and Rhodes Island bolded every other sentence. The final section after "saving the game" was much easier to read without having bold text all over the script. |
kerrowe chapter 3 . 6/10 Huh all those unexpected meetings. Weird but neat. Though if the Doc got any personas from the training I hope there'll be a mention of which person provided them when they show or in their "stat page." |
kerrowe chapter 2 . 6/9 Honestly it's not like the Velvet room actively tried to stop the protests from sharing their existence in the first place. But oooh... I wonder what kind of Personas could be taked from "enemy bosses" or the strongest of allies. |
kerrowe chapter 1 . 6/9 Would like it if there was an extra paragraph spacing between the dialogue switches. But a bit interesting that the personas are being involved without another world. |
Dxhologram chapter 3 . 6/5 Nice to see the Social Link at work, and the doctor gaining a new Persona. |
Cryocene chapter 3 . 6/1 I am sorry to hear your electricity went out. Is that why this chapter is rushed? I can't help but feel you are trying to advance the story TOO quickly - I mean, Ch'en is a bit too friendly compared to the base game in Chapter 2, when she has little faith in Rhode Island operators, seeing them as something like mercenaries. And that's not mentioning about the conversations twith W and Talulah. You are trying to cram events which should be happening in future chapters in the original game, 3 of them, into an early chapter of the fanfic. I hope you know what you are doing... since this will have serious impact on your future chapters if you don't plan it well. As a fanfic writer myself, my advice is to stick with the original game's story, and don't change plot points or add new details unless you are absolutely sure you can handle the consequences and the changes on the story. Other than that... the fanfic is otherwise entertaining to read. Keep up the good work! |
Evankey chapter 2 . 5/9 Pretty interesting, I'm probably gonna skulk around. Waiting for new chapters. Tho, I'm a bit confused. Wasn't it swallowing pills the way to summons persona in ch1? or was it only for the 1st time? It could've been fitting since some medicines can alter the moods/behavior of someone. |
Cryocene chapter 2 . 5/6 You are using the Earth element for Wyvern's resistance? An element which hasn't been used in a Persona or a Shin Megami Tensei game for decades? Are you trying to reference Persona 2? Then you should not use the name Bless for Ophiuchus' resistance, but Holy. Other than that - your story is interesting to say the least, though the narration and sentences can use some work. It's easy to lose track of who's speaking, and the jumbled text can be a mess to read. It is still a good work however, keep it up! |
Doortolight47 chapter 2 . 5/5 It's nice that the Doctor has people looking out for him. |
Dxhologram chapter 2 . 5/5 Hmm, interesting to see how the Velvet Room residents had to adjust their services to help out the doctor from another world. |
honuka chapter 2 . 5/5 I was thinking, maybe instead of using the mask, why not use vials and a injection gun(?) where he injects himself with a vial, and when he wants to switch personas he switches the vial. Since fear and segregation is the main problem, then the injecting yourself can signify that you have the courage to do what needs to be done for yourself and others? |
honuka chapter 2 . 5/5 If I am correct, the name of the sword is Khopesh, it's an Egyptian sword that's basically a sickle sword. |
