Cenright chapter 21 . 9/30 But the Hiraishin will be a great way to get back home after completing missions. Mission done, Hiraishin formation for a minute, and here you are! |
Mark1 chapter 22 . 9/26 Nice one! |
Yup chapter 21 . 9/26 He can now turn anything, or anyone, into an explosive. Awesome. |
Yup chapter 20 . 9/26 Naruto is basically an infiltration, demolition, espionage master in the making that doubles as a regenerating sorta speedster which is also a mobile instant army. |
Yup chapter 5 . 9/25 I just figured that Naruto tried to graduate early, with Sasuke not being allowed to test for early graduation because, a) he's an Uchiha, and Danzo exists, b) Itachi ducked up his mind, so he would not be allowed to graduate early on a psychological evaluation, c) Naruto whined until he was allowed to try to graduate early, which isn't something that the Leaf actually does in peace time. |
dudeman chapter 11 . 9/21 this man didn't even have to hit up area 51 to know what the fox says, what a legend. |
HardlyFlaccid chapter 22 . 9/22 Really dig this chapter! I'm a little confused about that last bit though. I could tell that Kurama's very excited about this development that could set him free, but was I right in sensing a bit of apprehension in Naruto's tone? It seemed a little bit like he was scared of losing his friend. Probably obvious to most people, as I'm a little slow on the uptake, usually, but I'm excited to see how this will pan out. |
Anne Camp aka Obi-quiet chapter 22 . 9/22 What a fun concept. In the first few chapters, I felt you stayed a little too close to the story, in that we didn't see how his different outlook and a new friend/someone he could rely on would change his academy life. Sure he got better scores, but what about the potential sabotage he had in school? We know some teachers didn't like him and some fics really play off of that. Some don't. Either way, it would have been nicer to see a little bit more of him getting things right and Kurama reinforcing that he got them right, the teacher just sucks, or he got things right, good job! Look at your grades now! You're not dead last! That kind of confidence boost could have helped and/or hindered him depending on how it was played (cockiness or confidence?), and I felt like we missed a lot when it was just skipped over. Also, we didn't get his relationships with his fellow classmates. Did he help Hinata that one time? Does she like/care about him at all, or is she even more of a wallflower than before, constantly beat down without anyone else to look up to, not even Naruto simply because he just wasn't there at the right time? Or did that event happen before Kurama got in contact with him? Speaking of contacting Kurama, was that something that Kurama was working on the whole time and that was why he was able to contact Naruto? Like concentrating on worming some chakra through the seal in a way that he could contact him? It took 6 or so years for him to do so, but we didn't get a lot on what he made DIFFERENT so that he could actually talk to Naruto, so it felt a little cheap. What was his relationship with Sakura? This story said he had a bit of a crush on her, but that seemed really out of the blue and like it happened only because it was in canon, not for any actual reason. He probably wouldn't have constantly asked her out because Kurama would have discouraged that, so would he have had a better relationship with her? Or at least just one that wasn't as antagonistic? What about Kiba, Shikamaru and Chouji? Sure, Naruto didn't have any friends in canon, per se, but later episodes clearly showed that they were friendly. When Naruto ditched class, he often did with one of those three. Shikamaru because he's lazy, Chouji because he's adorable and friendly to everyone and Kiba because he's just as wild and free-spirited as Naruto. We get almost nothing about them here. It was mentioned once, a little later, that he was a bit of a hermit, but again, that would have been something I would have liked to see before. It worked for canon because the whole thing started at age 12. It doesn't work so well for this because it starts at age 6 and we need to see those little changes to understand some of what comes later. That being said, I actually really like that he's still on Sasuke and Sakura's team. It's fun to see them with a different dynamic that isn't just automatically friendly. This is one of the most realistic team 7 working dynamics that I've come across. It's also fun to see Naruto push Kakashi into actually teaching them. LOL Not to mention I really love that he taught all three of them more or less equally, and that he didn't focus on jutsu, but on control, endurance and reserves. I particularly love what you've done with Kurama especially his attitude. This with the exception that he's the boss summon (how does that work with him being part of the Juubi? You can make it work, and I'm curious as to how you will, but it's something that doesn't make immediate sense and thus will need addressing). Other than that, it's very believable in universe. He's so... GRUMPY and it's just so fun to hear him be so defensive of Naruto. He's like the grumpy uncle that you just don't cross... I love it. I also appreciate how he taught Naruto. Him not knowing any jutsu makes a lot of sense and a lot of people don't go that way if they have Naruto in contact with Kyuubi before the academy graduation. I also appreciate him teaching Naruto to hunt and eat like a fox. I very much like the emphasis you put on Naruto's trapping and henge. A lot of people acknowledge that his henge is physical and different, but no one really DOES anything with it outside of disguises. Probably for the very reason you pointed out. A rock doesn't have chakra the size of a jounin. LOL I wonder if they could put another seal on Naruto. One that he can activate at will and it will make certain amounts of chakra undetectable? I mean, he could activate level one, and it would take him down to a chunin. Level two would take him down to a genin. Level three would take him down to a civilian. Level four takes him down to an animal. Level five takes him to a tree/plant/etc. Level six complete lockdown, ie, a rock. Just an idea if he wants to be an infiltration/trap/sabotage specialist (which he would be pretty phenomenal at). In any case, one way or another I am still looking forward to more. :) |
Guest chapter 22 . 9/20 Good story, I would like it if you updated more often |
dai sennin kurosaki d naruto chapter 22 . 9/21 naruto may be on the road to learning banbutsu sozo aka creation of all things the technique used to create the tailed beasts to begin with. should naruto learn more about onmyoton techniques he might could do it. |
RamenKnight chapter 22 . 9/20 Well, he got what he wanted and more. I wonder what his reaction will be. Its going to be... hard to your constant companion, and one of the few being thats nice to you, suddenly have a way to 'leave' that he is exited for, even if that was the end goal anyway. That was years down the line, this is very now. Thanks for the update. |
EyesLikeLiquidFire chapter 22 . 9/20 Ah! Naruto is a genius. I'm so excited to have Naruto out and about. |
vyoom chapter 22 . 9/20 Kurama existing outside Naruto is part scary, part hilarious and part amazing. You can spin it in so many different ways. Naruto’s meeting with sand siblings was a bit stale for my taste. If Naruto was going for underplaying his abilities, he should not have mentioned tailed beasts. Nice update anyhow. |
Sage Rikudo chapter 22 . 9/20 awesome |
