This was lovely to read. I’m so glad you took an interesting approach to it; less of the sexual tension and more depth to the characters. I of course would love to see a scene where Mai tells Naru in person that she doesn’t wish he were dead instead of Geneor something along those lines since Naru will cut himself over and over with that scene when he needs to.

These posted in the middle of my school deadline, so I never had a chance to finish reading after chapter two (which was the WORST place to stop, lol). Once again, you've written something amazing!

Saddest part was Mai admonishing him and asking why he was the surviving twin. Happiest was maybe the first chapter before everything got complicated. Thank you again for writing!

What a ride that was! It's certainly a unique take on the prompt, and it was definitely interesting to see how Naru's dreamscape is structured. I'm always a fan of delving deep into any character's psyche, especially Naru's, so this was such a treat to read. I can't help but wish for a longer version of this series, perhaps with Mai helping Naru overcome memories/visions one by one until he doesn't have to keep them locked away. But! I love it all the same.

I'm so glad this ended on a positive note! Leave it to Mai to find a silver lining to any situation. (I wonder who that man in the forest was. He seemed so out of place that he stuck out, but I couldn't find any hints towards his identity except the dress shoes.)

So what in the world was Gene thinking to set this dream sharing train wreck in motion! Well at least Naru confessed to Mai about the dream sharing. Yet another whirlwind! I really love how you capture the very psychedelic essence of a dream. I can't help but feel bad for Naru though—something tells me that the other Mai was a manifestation of Naru's own thoughts. It really says a lot about how self-deprecating he is despite all the bravado he puts up.

Though it was a short chapter, I went through SO many emotions? I was excited to see what kind of interaction they'd have in the dream, giddy that Naru was being soft, Deeply Unsettled when Mai assumed he was Gene, and finally, mortified to my bones along with Mai when she realized it really was Naru aksjks i look forward to more!
