Renly would make as good a King as Robert was, with the difference being that he wouldn’t even be good for warfare.

I fear that Sansa in this story would, like in Canon, soon learn what the world is truly like…

It’s either mind-numbingly boring or horrifying.

Jaqen H’ghar is probably there right now…
“Princess Arianne Martell and her husband had departed to Dorne a few days ago”
They need to move fast; the Lannisters won’t be wasting any time, and neither should they. Essentially, Stannis just abandoned Robert to his death, but considering what Robert had done to him in this story, I cannot say that I blame him.

This is a BIG change from ASOIAF Canon. I wonder just what conversations took place out of earshot of Sansa that finally convinced Eddard to send his second daughter away under the care of House Martell.
“I hope she stays in that arid desert forever”
…that may very well happen; at the very least, Arya may end up spending months if not years in Dorne. Such a stay would shape her into a very different person from the Arya that we know in Canon. She already has the potential to become a ruthless killer in her. Imagine if instead of being trained by a Faceless Man in stealth, infiltration, subterfuge and murder, she is trained to be a warrior.

I wonder if Stannis looked at Sansa and Arya and was reminded of Robert and himself.

It only delayed his death…there really was no preventing it. Robert was surrounded by minions and lackeys of people who for years had wished to see him gone so they could put Joffrey on the Throne.

Every time I see the name ‘Manderly’, I keep thinking of the Boardwalk Empire TV series. The Manderlys are not to be underestimated in my opinion.

Lord Tywin Lannister, Sansa. The grandfather of the boy you are so infatuated with.

A very stupid move that would not have benefitted House Lannister regardless of whether Jaime won or lost.

And still Sansa clung to her vision of being Joffrey’s Queen…God damn it, Sansa.

Chaos is a Ladder…it was Baelish who told Catelyn that the dagger that almost killed Bran belonged to Tyrion.

If Eddard grants it, then it means that Tywin would be declared throughout Westeros as an enemy of the Crown if he does not put a stop to his own bannermen.

…but then Robert dies while the Lord Hand Eddard is still travelling to the Riverlands to apprehend Ser Gregor. What would this mean for Eddard? I doubt the Riverland Lords would stand for Joffrey allowing Lord Tywin’s bannermen to continue to burn and pillage their lands and put their people to the sword.
“so that’s what I’ll do”
A huge change from Canon here; due to being neither wounded by Jaime nor heavily drugged by Pycelle, Ned is still healthy and fit in both body and mind. In my opinion, many things would get better AND worse as a result of his decision to leave King’s Landing and hunt down the marauding Westerlanders himself.
“How he defeated Ser Arthur Dayne”
I am fairly certain that it was in fact Howland Reed who defeated Arthur, though it’s just speculation on my part.

Loras has no love for Gregor, and his father seeks to install Renly Baratheon on the Iron Throne following Robert’s death. Perhaps Loras hopes to win the support of the Hand of the King for Renly’s claim.

Why indeed…

Sansa, have you ever heard of Prince Duncan Targaryen?

Joffrey (trying to) fight Gregor. I’m laughing already.

Oh man…and he left her alone in King’s Landing, surrounded by Lannisters. Eddard really should have gotten her out of the city as soon as possible rather than wait until the last minute.

DAMMIT, Ned! That was a terrible mistake!
“Next to him were almost a hundred knights and soldiers…Most of his guard and the Dornish soldiers”
Oh, I’ll bet the Dornishmen would be quite eager to bleed Gregor Clegane with their spears…
“Sansa entrusted her with everything, all the plans her father had to send her back to Winterfell”
Why, oh why did Ned not expressly forbid Sansa from approaching the Lannisters or at least given strict orders to his servants to not allow her anywhere near them?!
“they wouldn’t let her out of there for the rest of the day”
…and then any Northerner or Dornishman in the Red Keep who did not accompany Ned is in all likelihood murdered. The Lannisters have made their move at last. I can only wonder what happened to Loras and Renly.

This story is heating up fast, after 11 chapters of setting and build-up! It seems that the war has started at last, with Tywin firing the first shot.
If Eddard could gather support in the Riverlands, he may be able to rally a large enough force to not only find and defeat Gregor but the rest of the Lannister armies…but the Lannisters have surprise on their side, with the Riverlanders being unable to prepare for assaults or sieges and thus caught on the backfoot.
And what moves would House Martell make on this rapidly evolving chessboard? I cannot wait to find out.

Well ned screwed I wonder if he'll become what bric was in the books and show a other thing I've always hated is that ned dosent take lores like hes a good fighter who cares if he want revenge you need the men the more the better

I was not expecting that isn't stannis like 14 or 15 and arianne like 4 or 5 or 6 like you would think stannis would correct Doran and mean Robert first born child but forget it let's just roll with it

Sansa is just dumb

Lord Beric x jeyne interesting, the poor girl deserves someone to take care of her and protect her (the canon was very cruel to her).
I love how Sansa's innocence and stupidity looks (you managed to show her whimsical personality).
So Ned lives, arya in Dorne, I'm dying to see what will happen now.
Sandor will have his revenge? (The Lannisters will send assassins to Ned.)

Huh... so Sansa, Jeyne, and what was left of the household are the only ones left behind this time it seems. And Jeyne and the others are likely going to pay for Sansa's bullshit just like in canon unfortunately. It also shows how delusional she is when she ignores the fact that the people being attacked by Gregor Clegane are technically her own through her maternal family. Then again, Sansa was a disloyal little bitch anyway with her betrayal of Ned both here and in canon.

I am curious as to why Ned didn't up and mention the evidence for why Joffrey was unworthy since he clearly had the book right in front of him and seemed about to show and explain it to her. Also, it does remind me... Robb had been contemplating to disinherit Sansa in the books before the Red Wedding because news of Sansa's marriage to Tyrion had been received. You know... I wonder what would have happened if anyone in either show or books found out Sansa's part in everything (of course Ned's own stupidity in confronting Cersei directly also contributed to Cersei and Jaime's insane behaviors). I know she's for sure lucky that it was one of the conversations that Varys and Baelish seem to have failed to overhear through spies.

Simple, yet brilliant. Also, he managed to smuggle out Arya but Sansa blabbered everything to Cersei.

Cersei never miscarries with Robert’s child. In the show, they had the scene where she lost a son during infancy that didn’t exist in the books, while in the books, Cersei did once get pregnant with Robert’s child, but we don’t know when, and Jaime found a woman to “cleanse her.”
Also, small complaint, but it generally drives me nuts when there isn’t a bedding ceremony, especially when book cannon is being followed, since it’s almost always inspired by Ned and Catelyn who did have a bedding ceremony in the books.

Cersei made Ser Harys Hand during Feast, then after her arrest and Kevan’s rise, he made Ser Harys Master of
Coin.

I’m going to have to report you for failure to adhere to food symbolism. Boar is served yet there is no regime changing. Yes, there is a shift in power, but it’s not one that’s going to come into fruition for many years.
Additionally, Arianne is like 9 or 10 at this point, and she and Daemon Sand weren’t a thing until they were like 14 or 15.
Overall though, I love the main premise of this and have to applaud you for being willing to write something so bold.

Ned was not crippled,but he still die if he do not listen to Stannis.
