Beautifully worded and beautifully woven. I like the way you've created the characters they come across as being very real, while at the same time true to the characterisations given on the show. I also like the way you've handled using present tense as opposed to past, not many people can do so as well as you have. A lovely fic.

this is a really good story and you're an excellent writer! if you don't continue with this please write another kate/jack fic, there aren't enough around. once again, nice job and i hope to see more of your work soon.

I haven't read much fanfic for 24, but this piece is so exceptionally well written (not counting some minor editing errors). A wonderful work, and a pleasure to read. We can only hope poor Jack winds up with the possibility of a happy ending, eh?

There's something about the tense you use in this that makes me think of a summary. It's like stories I've written where I knew what happened for part of it and explained that in detail but just shoved necessary facts in where they were needed. It's not that bad though. Jack does seem a little out of character when he's asking Kate out but it could be because he doesn't have a life threatening situation going around him.

This is just lovely, with the right balance of angst and warmth, and wonderful, textured characterization of both Jack and Kate. The pacing was particularly striking, and very effective-I liked both your use of this season's chronology in the earlier scenes and the alternating perspectives between the two parts. You've definitely inspired me to write some season 2 fic of my own. I hope to see more from you, and I'm going to go add this story to my favorites now... :)
