Hey! I just read your story, and while Van Kleiss is not my favorite character, I do love your OC so much. Emelia is so sassy and isn't afraid to speak her piece haha. I enjoyed that she doesn't let her estranged father walk all over her. Van Kleiss freaking deserved to have that shotgun pointed at him. The subtle religious undertones worked into the story are really good too. She is an EVO, yet considers Evos demons. Her religion is what adds a layer of sadness. The part where she cries on the bathroom floor is so heartbreaking becase she's still religious, like in the moment where she says,"Lord forgive me." It's so sad to see her loyal to her faith still, even when she thinks she's sinful.

Also, I love the way you write so much. It's so skillful. The Southern Slang gives the story a more personal feel, I like when writer's work the accent into the non dialogue bits, it's so cool. The moment where Van Kleiss was at the door too was so suspensful because of the staccato sentences. I just love all of this. The ending just makes me wonder more about this universe. I want to know more about Emelia's sisters. And I know you leaked some information on the amino about how Van Kleiss is going to use her, but I hope you come back to this, dude!
