Well, at least Doflamingo's incarceration offered the opportunity to do some recon into how Marco's doing (not well...).
Luffy wanted to screw the plan and do a canon!Impel down escape before Zoro interefered, didn't he?

Guess it'll be Marineford instead, then... at least if the Marines still decide to go through with that even though it's not Ace in their clutches. There would be one less Warlord at least, so there's that. Everything to make better Marineford odds fot the Straw Hats and WBs! *sigh* Any outright involvment would still expose the SHs as traitors, though...

Speaking off, it pained me to read that Marco is so certain that Luffy will choose his convictions over him... and his loss to Teach... (at least it was folly more than true fighting inferiority, or so I want to take it)... and then his backstory... *deep sigh* well, I guess it explains Marco's reactions thoughout this story and how he comes to form the opinions we just saw.

Oh dear... And what exactly does "brought to Justice" mean now...? Are we facing another Marineford, or another version of the Impel Down affair, or both?

*deep sigh* Well, if it took two days, then at least Marco gave damn Teach all the trouble he could. I hope that traitor felt his claws!

Damn, the reaction of Luffy and Marco's crew are going to be painful, though... But! It can't be helped, so gather yourselves and then on to the rescue!

Oh dear, the backstories of the Straw Hats changed a LOT, didn't they? o.o So being a Marine there was no Luffy to help Syrup with Kuro and Usopp could do nothing but escape with Kaya, Merry and the three kids on the Going Merry because they were the only ones to ultimately believe Usopp. And then they found their way on the Grandline and stranded on Little Garden, where one of the kids and Merry died. Then luffy showed up and saved them Usopp joined the Marines while the kids oand Kaya stayed on Drum. Did I get that right?

As for the present time... not gonna lie, that kink made me cringe... Still, I really like you writing, so I'd definitely give pretty much anything you write a try so far barring House of the Lost, which just sounds so /intriguing/, but if Marco was already that bad off in Luffy's Mystery Bird...).

And damn, that chapter had it in him indeed! The character interaction and conflict were super interesting, and grew into quite the suspense with Luffy's worsening condition (noooooo...!), his warning, and Marco's understandable but unfortunate reaction (I understand and empathise with his conflict about what Luffy's thinks about the Moby and his crew, which makes it all the sadder that it came to this...) and what happened to Thatch (nooooo...!). I really hope Marco, despite all that anger, remained his newfound paranoia long enough to save Thatch's life...

It's extremely interesting to see Marco's reactions; he's normally not one to lose his head like that and disobey orders (since WB would have told him not to go just like he did with Ace in canon) to the point where he's taking Ace's place on the hunt for Blackbeard. But the way you wrote it, with everything that piled up and unbalanced Marco prior to this, and /especially/ with the added guilt of thinking he failed to heed Luffy's warning, to Thatch's detriment, it makes sense that he snaps. Marco, as far as I see it, remains remarkably written in character. Superb job, dear Dee! :D

I can't wait to see how things will play out now. Will we see another Marineford, only with Marco on the execution platform (even without the added incentive of ending Roger's line, defeating Whitebeard befor ehe can die of old age and add that victory to the Marine's score would be enough reason for them to instigate a Summit War)? Or will Luffy manage to work a different kind of miracle than in cann? And how does Ace react, instead of storming off after their traotir? So many questions... :)

this went from really hot to Really fuckin dramaticand I love it! though I'm really anxious because I loathe sad endings but between luffys one (dramatically worsening) lung and Marco going after teach I can't see how everybody will be happy in the end... Nevertheless I will continue reading because your writing is as always amazing!thank you for writing this!3
