Dorothy Clarkson chapter 13 . 6/19 Tiny, tiny point, but one I’m sure Morse would be equally pedantic about, - their marriage took place at a Register Office, not a Registry Office. These places are so named because it is where the civil registration registers are kept but not necessarily where registrations are made, although they frequently are. Compare this with, for example, with the Land Registry which functions as a repository for new details and amendments for the official records. |
