This was an interesting twist and nicely explains why Vlad is so insane. It is a bit odd that the ghosts didn't seem to suspect that Vlad was possessed as I kind of gather that if such parasites exist in the ghost zone, than it would be far more common than halfas. Then again perhaps the ghosts simply don't care if one possesses a human. I can understand Danny's concern about how his parents would take it as their hostile attitude make more sense in the light of what has happened to Vlad.

i've always liked to think that the plasmius half of the evil future version of danny was the primary reason he was, well, evil, so him being an actual, corrupting parasite fits the bill Super Well

Holy shit that's the most logical approach I've ever heard to Dan... I high-key love this? Going into this I thought it would've hooked me as much since I don't care for Vlad stories but damn, you never fail to impress!

I really like this version. I could easily see it as happening, since Vlad's accident /was/ different from Danny's. And I really like the redeemed Vlad, who was an innocent, if an innocent with many personal flaws, trapped inside of his own body for twenty years. I hope he can recover his life back. And I can see him now becoming the family friend he really should have been from the beginning.

Good writing too; the flow was seamless. Keep up the good work. :)

Ooh Danny somehow separated them, yay. I wonder how (the Ghost Catcher?). Does Danny know Vlad was being possessed? Will something terrible happen after this point? Will I stop asking questions like a TV show narrator? Stay tuned to find out.
Heh, Danny misunderstood and thought the hateful 'he' that Vlad mentioned was Jack. It was slightly startling, but in a good way. Completely different points of view. I like how Danny has no idea what's going on—but believes he does.
Oh, the Ultimate Enemy episode already happened. That means future Vlad hadn't told Danny about the possession. ...I wonder why. He would've had a chance to clue Danny in...
I like your ending note about Plasmius. And this could have a neat sequel if you wanted, where Vlad gets reacquainted with life and friends, and possibly has some side effects of the long possession. Would be cool. Also, the parasitic ghost thing is interesting. I hadn't really realized it until your ending note, but it's like he needs a host to merge with or something, the way he seems to need another being's goals. He's not just a ghost who possessed Vlad, he's yet another themed ghost, like Spectra and her cravings of misery, like Desiree and her wishes. That's neat—fits right in with the show.
...That means Dan's not really evil either, just trapped (times 2). :( Will Danny think of trying to help his future self? Why didn't future Vlad tell him that his future self was possessed?! ...wait, would the Ghost Catcher even work if there's no human to catch? :( No, there has to be some way of kicking him out, there's always a way of undoing a ghost's stuff. Which might be one of the weaknesses Vlad had mentioned (and it might only work with a third, outside, party).
Anyhow, nice fic.

This was an amazing story! I absolutely loved it!
I do think that Vlad is a half-ghost as well, but this makes a LOT of sense for how he acts in the show—and explains Dan. Still, I’m glad he’s free and will work on restoring his friendship with Jack and Maddie and being a good person.
(Also, I hope he stays wealthy, but through better means such as him becoming a proper scientist)
Also, depending on where this story is set within the show’s timeline, I wonder if Vlad will find Dani and apologise for how Plasmius used her and tried to kill her, and he’ll become the father she’d thought he was.
Overall, this is a marvellous story, and I wouldn’t mind to see if this was continued!
