Eh. Tobirama was well known for his cool and calculating demeanor. If he'd been the only expert Water master it may have made sense to use him anyway, but with Kisame's love of battle and challenge, and Zabuza's bloodlust, both were better options for the name of a Gyarados, "The Rage Pokemon".

I love this story! I’m curious on if the rainbow affects mega evolutions stones and if it can be like a key stone I’m a sense. I also kinda want gyarados to discover a den of magicarp in the lake and find another mega evolution stone that would have been lying right under Oaks nose.

Man, I wish more fic's did Oak this way. Guy IS a kind grandpa. but I love the idea of him just being an absolute BEAST secretly, who chose to move on from battling, but test him and he can still dick slap you silly!

Since your basing your Pokemon around Naruto characters and their themes. You should have him catch an Elekid and name it Ai, after the fourth Raikage and his skillset. Or a Gastly and name him Obito.

Also l, any plans for a visual difference if the Hariyama mega evolves or a new typing? Fighting / Ground would be a cool concept.

It seems way too earlier for me to be pointing things but you established that your Brawly has that battle crazy, the almost obsessive need to conquer and since then i've been thinking if this isn't some kind of foreshadowing as his Growlithe is also named Madara, the Naruto villain that went power crazy trying to forcefully change the world with his eye illusion hax so the humans could cool down their murder boners for one goddam second or i could be reading too much into that, but the Madara name sure raised my crazy alarm.

Maybe a weavile could be named haku
An arbok could be orochimaru
Maybe a ninetails could be called kurama or naruto for the meme
Galvantula coulbe shino? Or literally any bug type I guess

I suppose because we have Hashirama, Madara, Shikaramu (i think), Minato, Tsunade, Asuma and now Tobirama which are all Leaf Ninja names. And they all match somehow, whether it is their elements or characteristics.
Hashiyama, Growlithe, Absol, Drowzee, Feebas (unfortunate), Teddiursa and now a Gyarados.
Fighting, Fire, Dark, Psychic, Normal, Water/Flying.

Some more leaf ninja names (lol): Kushina, Narutp, Sasuke, Sai, Tenzo, Kakashi, Ino, Neiji, Hinata, Tenten, Anko, Kurenai

Just guessing that the next pokemon could be a grass type lol.

Not sure if those are kanto based:

Tangela, Heracross/Pinsir, Koffing, Exeggcute, Leafon, Scyther, Breloom

But yh just suggestions...
