Very satisfying chapter, to see the children’s father exposed for the scoundrel he is and get what’s coming to him. They’re much better off where they are, with four caring adults to watch over them.

Oh, dear. Just what is Inspector Wilson up to? I suspect he had no idea he’d find Chief Superintendent Lawson on Alice’s side. Alice on her own is formidable enough, but with Matthew, Jean and Lucien backing her up, Wilson doesn’t stand a chance.
