dbrathwa chapter 6 . 7/2 OMG. This is a fantastic piece of work. I loved every moment. You write with such craftsmanship that I found myself hoping that writing remains a dedicated pursuit on your part. The characters, dialogue, historical backdrop and development- spot on. Thank you for this marvellous piece! |
DR. Elsac2 chapter 2 . 7/1 extreme history geek screaming vkxnmyvnlkcxdjkbxgmk. Now that I got that excitement out. let me praise this chapter. It is so well paced. the early awkwardness of their fist meeting, and then the development into something jovial and comfortable when the ice completely melt . To each other they are once again a friend and the same soul writing the letter who keep he or she sane. I love how the period of the fic is never abandoned for modernism. The odd look because she is a woman in uniform. The difficult conversation about her security at the base. Above all , the characters and how compelling they're. Rick the gorgeous lad with insecurities about his physic.I smell an Easter egg) who is quite the geek and avid reader. I love how he is basically a breathing encyclopedia. Dare I to say it is refreshing to see role reversal. Too often the female characters are the weird intellectual with obscure references to knowledge learned in a book. in this fic, Michonne is the reckless and adventurous one. she is the one with dream of grandeur. I love the contrast. finally, the last scene and yesssssss historical accuracy. The nature of the war which comes to knock some sense to Michonne. Her legitimate fear while experiencing the horror of the war for the first time juxtaposed with the stoicism of British people . chef kiss." |
DR. Elsac2 chapter 1 . 6/30 Bravo...bravo...What away to open a fic. epistolary fiction is hard work, and your execution was perfect. Through one year of correspondence, the growth of their relationship was beautifully written. from rick first letter to the one at the end, there is quite a journey. Now on the historical accuracy, I draw my hat to you. The depiction of sexism through opposed and yet converging vision of Rick and Michonne is truly spotted on. I like how Michonne is not some fierce caricatural idea of feminism. like many women during the war time , her eyes open to possibilities. it is a slow discovery of how strong her will is. that is truly beautiful and historically accurateyes I live for realism and respect of social norm of the time when characters are given a narrative. Rick and Michonne despite being very forward thinking still sound like two young people in 40's. idealism and pessimism included. Truly an amazing first chapter, and the tone of each letter portrays such intimacy. reading this chapter felt like voyeurism. I was lead into Rick and Michonne lives. excellent work |
Firefly-class chapter 6 . 5/23 Great story. I couldn’t stop once I started it. |
itsaboutonlyme chapter 6 . 5/12 Yay! Loved it! Could not stop reading! Thank you! |
Guest chapter 6 . 5/10 This was a beautifully written story that I enjoyed so much. I laughed, cheered and cried. Thank for this blessing. |
Maxine5411 chapter 4 . 5/8 Chapter 4 _ utter sheer perfection. writing at its finest. |
Maxine5411 chapter 3 . 5/8 Chapter 3 _ Sublime. Everything about this was perfect and beautiful. Richonne coming together romantically couldn’t possibly have been any better. I just loved this so mich. You’ve really outdone yourself with this story. I was crying by the end, I was so moved. Extremely anticipating what they’ll be doing in these 4 days. |
Maxine5411 chapter 2 . 5/8 Chapter 2_ Just as fantastic as the first chapter. I believe hetero men & women can be solely friends but it’s as clear as day Rick’s crushing on her and if she didn’t feel the same she wouldn’t have been so disappointed in thinking the guy across the platform was Rick. I like that although they are closer they still continue their mail correspondence. I’m just really enjoying this story like I said before the attention to detail is amazing. I know that Rick will keep her safe. |
Maxine5411 chapter 1 . 5/8 Chapter 1 _ Amazing! So creative. I really got lost in the letters and forgot it’s fiction. It feels so real. Richonne are very much like their tv counterparts. The transition from Michonne’s anger and Rick’s guilt to two friends legitimately caring for the well being of each other is stunning in how organic it is. I lack the words to express exactly how amazing this is, juxtaposed to the expansiveness of your vocabulary & how intelligently you’ve composed the letters. It’s interesting as much as things change, they remain the same. Michonne wondering what world they’re living in similar to the present day with this virus, how will life be once this pandemic is relatively over? And the patriarchal system, no matter the strides made, and there have been many, still remains essentially identical. Your exploration of human feelings is impressive. I don’t know if it was intentional but Michonne went through the stages of grief in her letters. What I love most about Richonne's dynamic is how raw and honest they are with each other & that they encourage the other to be so no matter how dark it may be and they are genuinely interested in each other. Also, that there’s no judgment, only support and uplifting which is spectacular given the relationship beginning with both Richonne blaming Rick for the death of Michonne’s brother. Particularly Michonne saying she saw her future as being connected to Anthony & with his death, she found herself a bit lost. It’s profoundly authentic. The whole work is authentic! I appreciate your attention to detail which catapults this story into the category of one of the best of the best Richonne stories. Thank you so much for writing and deciding to share this with us. |
Wetblanketrelay chapter 6 . 5/7 I’m in tears. Of happiness for your story, and gratitude that you put in the tremendous effort. I love the journey of these two heroes. Plus I am a sucker for war dramas, so it’s like you wrote this for me. You are such a talented writer. I am diving into all of your stories now. |
atm0000 chapter 5 . 4/27 PHUCK IT ALL! Gahhhhhh. So there’s no way Rick is dead. I refuse to believe it, but even still, my heart is in phuckin pieces right now. Where do I even begin? Well, with the beginning of the chapter starting off with letters. I really wondered if bad news was on the horizon. But then, Rick shows up at her front door! Talk about rejoicing! Given the looks of him, I thought he may be awol, but I would’ve cared as long as Richonne could live their life together. But alas, he has to report back in 5 days, so now they get another few days to reconnect and attempt to get enough of a fill to last them how ever long they’ll be apart. When Rick proposes, I bout lose my shy! I then got annoyed Michonne wasn’t an immediate yes. I then got happy again when Rick convinced her and boy if his goofy happy ass wasn’t so much fun to read. But let me tell you something. When Rick called to tell her he was leaving practically in that moment, I wanted to jump through my phone and slap the shyt out of his fine ass. Ok yes, he’s noble and wonderful and courageous and shyt. But he done just broken my girl’s heart and that didn’t sit well with me at all. So now we’re back to a most likely pregnant Michonne reading addressee deceased. Damn it all to hell! Fix it, lawd! |
atm0000 chapter 4 . 4/27 Oh wow. Just wow! There entire time together before he shipped off was such a joy to read, but his could quite possibly be one of the best if ‘Richonne first time’ I have ever read. Wow! Bravo, honey. Brav-phucking-o! |
atm0000 chapter 3 . 4/26 Oh my! This is getting beyond good! I was so excited for their date at the dance hall. Though it was much shorter than I’d hoped, I’m glad their true feelings for each other have surfaced. Four days, huh? What shall they do, eh? I got a few ideas, starting with some naked huffing and puffing and moaning and groaning. Virtue and proprietary be damned! Lol. |
atm0000 chapter 2 . 4/26 Lordy, I can’t tell you how much I’m loving this story! I don’t even want to leave a long comment because I’m dying to read the next chapter. Rick and Michonne’s friendship is so deeply special. They are similar in their interests, but also different in their approach to life. They truly do balance each other out. I was hoping Michonne was giving Rick and ‘in’ regarding being led on and then he could confess his feelings, but no. I suppose he’s not their yet or at the very least just respects her too much throw in romantic sensibilities. Either way, they both are subconsciously building a formidable foundation for this epic long story. Excellent work! |
