I had a feeling it was going to be Shirou but goddamn, the buildup to Gil's subsequent explosion of rage amazing. Nothing could possibly enrage him more than Shirou being called the King of Heroes. Thanks for writing this hilarity. Will there be more? I hope so, but it could easily just be an amazing one-shot.

Moar my God write moar of this history. But please keep it Aqua and Gil only. I seen a lot of histories like this that incorporate the plot whit a different main character and aim to repeat the events in similar ways before they actually grow out of their comfort zone and end up in an original route anyways.

Please don't do the first part, go straight to original if needed. These two are perfect and not all characters and events in the history are compatible whit their dynamic.

Megumin has two things going for her and that's her chuubyo tendencies and her being the love interest girlfriend. The later is built especially for Kazuma and gets cringe wherever another character is used in the protagonist equation, the first gets old quick by itself the moment you enter the girlfriend phase of the history or the original content.

Same whit Darkness, she also only has two things going for her and the historys I read sideline her so hard because they can't find uses for her to the point you just wish she wasn't there to begin.

Aqua is all the partner Gil needs, she's quirky enough that no matter who she's partnered whit the dynamic is over 9000. Include original characters or arcs if needed, just don't let this die at one chapter and don't force anything that has no good dynamic in.

BEWARE THE TURTLEMAN!

I should note that Gil should not have been eaten by Giant Frog. They don't like the taste of metal so it's considered a requirement for adventurers to wear metal armour when fighting them.

With that said, dynamic between Gilgamesh and Aqua is pretty hilarious. Instead of the more "down to earth" Kazuma constantly exasperated by Aqua's... airheadedness. We get... well, Gilgamesh.

That said, if this is not just a one off fun writing, the implication of Emiya being the local version of Gilgamesh has some interesting implications.

For one, Shirou is not likely to willingly form a party. He'd not want to risk anyone else and he would not think himself worth keeping safe via party. If _that_ is the kind of ideal hero everyone's expected to live up to, then the dark implication is that the death rate of adventurers are _even higher_ than originally.
On top of that, he fights with only the bare minimum of self preservation. While it's all "noble" and such to sacrifice oneself to save even one other, there's just no questioning the simple fact that a high level adventurer is more valuable than any civilian. Should such an act be encouraged, even more people will die trying to follow his example.
Finally, the very fact that he somehow became a famous hero, renown throughout the land. Well, there's first off the tradition of "heroes" marrying into the royal family. For another, Shirou actively avoids fame, in the sense that to him, "heroism" is a natural act. It's not one that he would consider worth any recognition. Even killing a Devil King to him would just be his ultimate failure, the instance where he affirmed his inability to save _everyone_.

Of course, all of that is probably overthinking what is meant to be a story of "Being Gilgamesh is suffering."

So you basically stripped him of everything that makes him Gilgamesh and wanked Shirou one of the worst naive protagonist there is even more? Imma pass hard on this story. I couldn't even stand Emiya archer because that guy always acts like he's a top servant when he's just somewhere in the middle lol.

You win. That is the most I have laughed in a long, long time. Gilgamesh got trolled so hard by Shirou. That is the best faker gag I have ever seen anywhere. Please continue this.
