First, I think you meant to say that Reid and the SWAT agents were thrown to the ground, not the grown. Lol!
I, too had an inspiration from the series finale on an alternate way the team had stopped Everett Lynch and blew up the jet mainly involving JJ and Reid. If you want to read it, look up the Jeid story "Rewrite the Stars" by WritingHealsTheHeart, go to "reviews" and look at my review on Chapter 34. I told the author in detail how I thought finally stopping Lynch would have made JJ and Reid grow closer in that story.
In your story, once again, something bad happened after Reid and JJ had split up! Reid was definitely blaming himself for the death of those SWAT agents. Just like Gideon would have if he was there. JJ and the rest of the team need to convince Reid that this explosion wasn't his fault. It was Lynch's fault. And, after that explosion, I think both JJ and Reid need a EMT to look at them.

I'm not sure I could get used to JJ calling Hotch "Aaron" on a regular basis. The whole series, she's only called him "Aaron" once. After Will was shot by the surviving bank robber brother in Season 7's "Hit."
But, it was nice seeing Hotch and Jack again. I wondered after Season 13's premiere "Wheels Up," when Rossi and Prentiss told the team that Hotch chose not to return to the BAU, would he and Jack have returned to New York to find Beth and reconnect with her or to go and check on Sean Hotchner.
Hotch was right. Reid being mad at JJ for helping Hotch fake Prentiss's death was the only other time JJ was out of sync with Reid.
I think JJ should have added that Reid had killed the "truth or dare" unsub by following in Hotch's footsteps by having an ankle gun. Hearing that, Hotch definitely would have been proud of Reid.
I also think that Hotch should have asked JJ did she secretly feel jealous of Lila kissing Reid in that pool, or when Reid was secretly phoning Maeve or when Reid had received the card with a lipstick kiss on the back of it from the beautiful bartender, Austin. If JJ answered "Yes" to those three times, then she might have been encouraged to take the risk of seeing her Spence before another woman like Max walks into his life. Lol!

I haven't watched CM since the end of season 13. I just happened to see some vids on youtube and OMG I missed so many Jencer moments. After watching the jj and Reid confession video I immediately came to look for fanfiction of these two and I find your story. Its amazing and makes me wish even more that Jencer was end game

In this set-up, I especially love the last paragraph and Reid thinking about all that missed time together due to circumstances.

Aww what a nice chapter. The dynamic between JJ and Hotch is so sweet and caring. He seemed to really help JJ by getting her to open up about her feelings and concerns.
