Oh, my gosh, okay, I’m not done yet, but I just had to say, I LOVE what you’ve done with Shawn’s take on therapy and being a victim. It feels like SO many fan fictions write him as always bottling things up (which, to be fair, doesn’t come without good reason) but pointing out that his mom is a psychiatrist and he’s seen a therapist off and on for years was a REALLY cool thought. And totally makes sense. It was really refreshing! And many people who have a therapist still are hesitant about it, even though they know it’s good for them. so it all just feels v realistic. Thanks for your story! Can’t wait to finish!

Just realized my previous post made it sound like I thought Shawn shut to disable as a way to ensure Frey gets his just desserts, but I know Shawn is not one to kill and that he'll do what is necessary and sufficient to stop the bad guy without resorting to much violence. Ahhh I want to just Shawn. Was so happy to read the part where they're all laughing. Makes me think of that last scene in Scary Sherry when Shawn, Gus and Jules are laughing over how Gus was stuck in Wispy Pines

Great ending! I love any and all references to Shawn's crack shot abilities and yours was fantastic! I see why you titled this The Terminator- I can picture the scene in that film with how Shawn shot Frey here. And of course Shawn only shot to disable. Frey does not deserve a quick death. He deserves to rot away in a cell.

That was so tense when Smitty took Henry! Glad Henry finally found his moment to take control, and get to the hospital in time!

And I concur with Nurse Peyton. Shawn is a superhero!

I love the easy understanding between Gus and Shawn when Shawn got released from the hospital finally and they both knew it was the 27th day since he had been rescued. Nice full circle there. Thanks for writing and sharing this story!

Whoa. I can't believe Frey actually managed to sneak in and shoot Shawn point blank!

Relieved to see Shawn survive it and able to tell them about Smitty. Also, love the Mr. Yin Presents reference.

And as much as Shawn hates it, I'm glad Henry gave him some means to protect himself.

Am hoping that Shawn will wake up and realize that the best way to find Frey is Smitty and those cigarettes! I love how his mind is always working overtime- just like how in the movie he technically knew it was Allison who was behind the attack on Juliet and her partner.

This chapter read like the part of the rollercoaster where after a little plateau reprieve (such as the doctor's prognosis on Shawn's vision) it just drops! It was so sad to see how terrified Shawn is (and with good reason). It was a nice detail that he doesn't have that involuntary reaction when Gus visits. A little surprised Jules also elicits that reaction. And to know what Frey did to him... what a monster. Drinking a bottle of water in front of him and then throwing the five bottles at him?! Please say you'll include some painful justice for Frey in this story! And again Shawn finding out he was blind after getting kicked in the head hit me the hardest. Unsurprisingly, that was the point Shawn gave up hope of ever getting out of there. :(

Anyway, good idea for Shawn to look at the file when Frey was arrested. Am hoping that the connection Shawn made about Smitty pans out.

Aw, Gus is such a good friend :) It's good to see Shawn starting to improve, even if he isn't fully healed yet - either physically or emotionally. Best part was Shawn using his memories of the captivity to work against Frey; you always do an amazing job of showing how his mind works, and how his thought processes happen. The last line was so good as well, and has me anxious to see what will happen next.

Oh my gosh, this chapter is amazing and so heartbreaking! I loved Lassiter sending Henry to the shed so he wouldn't find Shawn's body, that was really thoughtful of him; and Shawn's calling that out was sweet. The scene where Lassiter found Shawn is so good and so painful to read. It was sad to see Shawn trying to act casual and normal, but keep slipping into his terror. Made the trauma he went through feel so much more realistic. And that revelation about his eyes; that would have to be terrifying for someone who relies so much on his observation skills. And the ending part with Henry finally pushed me over the edge; started crying at the "it's not your fault" line. This story is definitely going into my favorites list.

Very touching chapter, seeing everyone's thoughts and worries as they try to find their missing friend. Gus's part had me tearing up, I like how well you conveyed their relationship and how they're really more like brothers than friends. And poor Shawn, being held prisoner for almost a month! That would be so rough on anyone, but I imagine it'd be even harder for someone with a mind like his.
Not a huge fan of the perspective switches in this chapter (I don't mind switching character POVs, but it was the switching between 1st-person and 3rd-person narrations that threw me off) but that's more of a personal preference than anything else. Other than that, I very much enjoyed this chapter and am eager to start the next one...

Just found this story and I'm already hooked after only the first chapter! I love how you describe Shawn's thought process throughout the scene, and leave it with such an ominous feeling at the end there. Gonna go check out the rest of the chapters...

Wow, this is a facinating story! Read it all the way through. I loved how you showed how quick Shawn's mind works. Lassiter sss wonderful in how he approached Shawn in the cellar and making sure Henry didn't find a body.

I am so glad that Shawn's blindness is not permanent. Him being found blind I think was the most disturbing part... what is Shawn without his hyper-observancy?

Now we've got a lead from Shawn, let's smoke out Frey before he can go after Shawn again!
