CRUDEN chapter 8 . 7/24
Let's hope this doesn't come back and bite Percy in the ass
miguelgiuliano.co chapter 8 . 7/23
great chapter I look forward to the next chapter.
I think there was a great review of Chapter 7 which is very interesting, I hope you have read it; seriously her idea is very good, but with respect to the Stark I would say that they are descendants of Uranus or Chronos but that due to their method of conquest they have the lineage of various gods in them. Blackwoods must be descendants of the goddess Hecate. the Velaryon, Celtigar and Manderly should be descendants of Triton. the Dayne would be descendants of Astrea (Fate / grand-order Astreae-Luvia seeks her would be the bastard daughter of Ned and Ashara).
regarding the children of the forest they would be descendants of Gea. the Tyrells would be Demeter descendants, Gard green hand in your world could be seen married to a daughter of Gea and from there his prosperous lineage has divine blood. I think the Tarly would be descendants of Orion and Artemis.

Posaitan chapter 7 . 4/29
Good as always yet your chapters always make me feel they're a bit too short. A bit more of an effort towards showing Percy mastering his demigod powers might be a good idea. This is truly what makes him stand above the rest, sure a demigod might bull through even 20 to 30 warriors with enough skill and enhanced strength and durability but demigod powers make them equal to the monsters and gods they sometimes challenge.

James317 chapter 1 . 4/29
Had potential, though hard to believe Perseus questions who the godly parent is in one of the later chapters. As an Ironborn, he should have grown up worshipping the Drowned God, and thus that should be the first assumption he makes. His “uncle” is the head of the Drowned Men and would have been grooming him from the start. Understandable considering you said that the only knowledge you have of the setting are the show seasons. I’d recommend reading the fanfic Salt-Breaker, which covers a Percy after the war discovering that GoT was a world his father left long ago, where they worship a version of him as the Drowned God.

This could have used a lot more world-building. For me, the best cross-overs are the ones that manage to tie in the intricate settings that canon built. So I’d like to recommend a few things as well as share some things that you might find interesting about the canon setting.

It would be really interesting if you treated the mythology of GoT as a either a sort of Greek/Roman dichotomy thing Or a Get of My Lawn scenario. We know that the worship of the Romans created another aspect of the Greek Gods that were generally more strict and disciplined, some of which would even have different powers that they could pass on to their demigod children depending on if the God took a Greek or Roman form during conception. So one possibility is that the world of GoT is one that the Olympian’s had access to in the past, and where they took on yet another Aspect, such as Poseidon being a Drowned God Expy, being more warlike and vicious than his Greek form, or Aphrodite as the main goddess of the Summer Isles. The Get of My Lawn scenario would explain the lack of presence of the Greek Gods as due to them being kicked out by the native gods of the world. Maybe the Valyrian gods?

Now on to the parts of lore you might find interesting.

There’s a man named Lodos who once tried to claim the throne of the Iron Isles. He claimed to be the living son of the Drowned God and was crowned king. When krakens failed to appear to smite Aegon’s fleet, he decided to ask daddy why and walked into the ocean. Some followed him but all drowned and washed back to shore. Except him. Maybe an over-ambitious son of Poseidon got a lesson in interfering in mortal affairs?

An interesting thing is the concept of the Deep Ones. In 3 separate places, the Deep Ones are part of Local Myths. Basically mermen. In the Iron Isles, they believe those who die in battle are taken to the underwater halls of their God where they feast and drink with mermaids and mermen. In Lorath, a place in Northern Essos next to Braavos, it was believed there was a civilization of “Mazemakers” (Daedalus?) who was destroyed by merlings from the sea. And in Far Eastern Essos, beyond the Dothraki Sea and close to the China analog of GoT, there’s the Thousand Isles, where they worship the Deep Ones. Interestingly, the Seastone chair, the main throne of the Iron Kings, is made of a material not found elsewhere in Westeros except the base of the High Tower, a giant lighthouse, but can be found in Essos, particularly near the Thousand Isles. Since you added Thalia, the lore adds an interesting thing.

The Chief Rival of the Drowned God is the Storm God (see the connection?). Although Poseidon is also God of Storms, the Storm God in GoT acts more like what you would expect Zeus to act like, and interestingly, is the ancestor of House Baratheon.

Basically, the founder, Orys Baratheon married Angela Duranddon, who was last of her line. Her ancestor was Argilac Durrandon( not sure of name). Argilac married the nymph Elenei. Elenei was the daughter of the Storm God. Possibly Zeus* was so angry that on the wedding, he sent a massive storm. Strong winds and lightning killed everyone except Elenei and her husband who she protected. Argilac decided to challenge Stormy by building another castle right where he sent the storm last time. Stormy blew it up again. Rinse and repeat, the castles getting bigger and grander, until Bran the Builder (possible son of Hades?) Raised up a great castle using magic. Stormy sent a massive storm to try to destroy the castle, but failed. Eventually he gave up. Argilac named his castle Storm’s End, and was crowned Storm King by his followers who were amazed at how he stood up to the God of Wind and Lightning.

This would create interesting discussion in Westeros as the story behind House Baratheon/Duranddon is well known, and Thalia’s abilities could be believed by the maesters and the like to stem from her distant* ancestry.

Now the reason for treating the Starks as descended from Hades is much more murky. Mostly because of the Nights King. Not the Night King, but the Nights King. Basically, he was a Stark who was the 13th Commander of the Watch. He fell in love with what is believed to be a female White Walker, and was believed to be in league with them. He crowned himself king of the Wall. The first King Beyond the Wall and House Stark both worked together to bring him down, and slew his undead wife.

Stark could also be considered a legacy of different lines. While Bran the Builder did show his magic when he built the Wall and the Anti-Zeus Castle that would later become Storm’s End, the more commonly known abilities such as Warging and Greensight were gained through marriage. House Stark conquered and defeated many other kings to eventually rule the North, and their main tactic was marrying the daughters of the defeated house. One of these was a Sorcerer known as the Warg King. House Stark’s abilities stem from him.

The Summer Isles worship a God/Goddess of Love, Sex and Fertility. Possible Aphrodite Expy.

Rhillor could be considered an Expy of Apollo, with their fire worship and their prophecies. In the shows, they make it look like Shadow Magic is a thing with the Red Priests. In the books it’s not the case. Melisandre is someone who studied in the Far East, in Asshai by the Shadow. A place where Shadowbinders rule. Shadowbinders are basically sorcerers who practice shadow magic and abilities like Nico. Possible Hades influence. Asshai has shadow demons and the like. The murky descriptions of Shadow Demon could be treated in a fanfic as primitive descriptions of Hellhounds.

Apollo could be behind the Valyrian gods too, or even Hephaestus. Valyria was renowned for their spellwork, which includes raising up great buildings made of smooth Stone without any discernible cracks and marks of construction, as well as spellforged Valyrian steel. They also had Glass Candles that allowed the Dragonlords to communicate across continents. Lastly, the Doom of Valyria was an event involving the eruption of a dozen or so volcanoes. Simultaneously. Maybe Hephaestus got mad at them?

Pan might have worked with the Children of the Forest, although their magic could be more related to Gaia. When the first men and the children went to war, the first thing the Children did was use a spell or thingy called the Hammer of Water Iirc, which sunk the land bridge between Essos and Westeros. That’s high tier magic, as it sunk a huge landmass.

The Seven who are One might be the remaining Olympian’s being jealous of the attention the others were getting and deciding that genocide was the only option, again, this bears of the whole, different worship creates different personalities like the Greek and Roman thing, the Seven decided to encourage Hugo to lead his people to genocide the first men and get rid of the Old Gods, this included worship of the Storm God and the Drowned God. Or maybe this was the native Gods working together to try to get rid of Olympian influence? It could explain why there’s only the sporadic halfblood.

There’s lots of other Gods and the like in GoT that I could go on but those are the ones most relatable to the Olympians at the top of my head.
