I believe that a comment of few and meaningfull words will be better that an essay regarding why this is wrong. I am unsure if I can provide this kind of words, but I'll say this, and I hope this will reach you.

If your significent other is doing half of those acts of clear hypocrasy, social abuse and spouse abuse, while being inconsidirate about how those things affect you, but also admite that they are wrong yet rufusing to change, then it'd be better, not just for you, but for any involved, mutual parties, such as childer, to leave. Because seeing you break from that person, who they also have a close relationship with, is bount to also break them in some way, and there might be no way to put them together afterwards.

I've witnessed something seemilar in the past once. Not of all those things, and in a much, and I mean much, smaller scall, but even then, it was still desterbing and painfull to see. I sincirely hope that things get better for you. And please, if you are worried about your children being negatively affected by this, please know that you can help them, and get through this together. But to do that, you will nead to be healthy. Physically and mentaly. Let them know you are there for them and help them, be open with them, and support them. Depending of age, let them know why this had to happen, and why they should never allow that to happen to them. Make sure they know you love them still, despite everthing.

Ill do my part, little as it may be. Sorry to hear about the situation.
I will say however, that as someone who pretty much grew up with divorced parents, that if anything it was for the best.
Knowing how my mom is to live with I recognize many of the bulletpoints here even though Im sure its different.
Having a more relaxed and intellectual parent was a nice contrast to the otherwise controlling and proper.
Perhaps thats not even a good way to parent in general, point is we arnt set in stone from our childhood, important as it may be.

That's horrible and heartbreaking to know your friend have to suffer from a marriage like that. After all, it takes two to tango, one just doesn't simply abuse the other like that while hoping a relationship to last.
