Still having trouble understanding some of the details, as I haven’t gotten around to reading the other story this is partially based on, but overall very entertaining. I’m not sure about the part with the implants heating up hundreds of degrees and not causing some significant damage and noticeable behavioral change, even if it was temporary due to her healing, though it’s not a big enough issue to really bother me.

With the battering the human race has taken in setting, I wonder how much if any of the supernatural from the human side is still around?
Have the furies taken Red in as a champion?
Do Naiads have a supernatural component?
How does the supernatural affect the rest of the races of the Compact and all the other races around?
