Reviews for A Poisoned Chalice
Elizander chapter 17 . 8/29
Well, I sure hope somebody picks up that phone... Because I fucking called it!

That being said, stop. Just STOP.
Ibaraki worked at one point as the main instigator of conflict due to her chaotic nature, but she has outgrown her role and has no business being the main character anymore.
1. She took Atalanta's NP to the face.
2. Escaped Charles by jumping to the river, and Charles chose to not pursue because...?
3. Rather than getting killed by Da Vinci, she's turned into a puppet. Which was actually great at the time.
4. Frees herself after being stabbed 3 times and kicked on the head once. The hell?! Seriously, that's all it took to break Da Vinci's spell on her?

To put it bluntly, the way you keep favoring her has gone from annoying, to frustrating, to a pain in the ass.
You want to keep her around cuz her erratic nature is too valuable to let got and may always come in handy in future chapters? Fine.
But for God's sake, try, just try to go two chapters in a row without giving her the spotlight! You have five other teams to work with. Some of which you've barely touched, if you've touched them at all.

Will Kariya take this chance to kill Tokiomi or his servant now that they're both in the open and focus on chasing Ibaraki?
Is Kayneth falling for Charles, just like Sola-Ui did for Diarmud in the original story?
Can we get an update on Iri and Maiya taking down Kirei?
What is Tokiomi's plan to victory? He ain't gonna win by staying home and Lancer won't win the war by staying hidden. Is he really set on being known as "The Jackass who won the Grail War by hiding until it was all over"? Sure, in the end who cares what they call him if he does win the Grail. But he has his family's and his own honor and reputation to think about. Give us some insight.
How long is Kiritsugu going to be a passive player in his own story?

I really like this story. And it is becoming less about Kiritsugu and the Grail War, and more about Ibaraki vs the world.
sarude dandstorm chapter 17 . 8/28
Da Vinci you sneaky little shit...
Loved the chapter btw.
Guest chapter 17 . 8/26
I kind of dislike how Caster can just look at someone and instantly understand them. That isn't how intelligence works.
SoraZekken chapter 17 . 8/25
Wait so was da Vinci controlling uryuu and Ibaraki? If so how? Bit confusing for me.
Da Vinci np/skill Natural Born Genius?
Arc chapter 9 . 8/25
Rereading light novel and manga(not the anime) she use 2 arrow( on Spartacus) regardless if target male or female, including description from np nothing suggest that it specifically target one gender or the other, other than mention of Apollo or Artemis. And well the compete material of what the np was originally going to be. Which was discarded and revise

"Phoebus Catastrophe: The Complaint Message on the Arrow"
A complaint letter on an arrow seeking the divine protection of Artemis and Apollo with the Tauropolos received from the Guardian Deity Artemis. In the next turn arrows will rain on all enemies as if a downpour. Range can be set.
Guest chapter 9 . 8/24
Referring to manga/light novel
Guest chapter 9 . 8/24
Phoebus Catastrophe: The Complaint Message on the Arrow
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Army Noble Phantasm
Range: 2~50
Maximum Amount of Targets: 100 People
A complaint letter on an arrow seeking the divine protection of Artemis and Apollo with the Tauropolos received from the Guardian Deity Artemis. In the next turn arrows will rain on all enemies as if a downpour. Range can be set.

Look over wiki, yes I know it unreliable at times. Phoebus catastrophe to my knowledge does while attacking doesn't decimate, homunculi, golem.

She use it against Spartacus yes unlike eon he male, however she still nock 2 arrow to attack him.

Only thing that would suggest that the np would choose to hit or ignore it target is complete material which was later discarded and revised.
Guest chapter 16 . 8/17
Screw Berserker! Bitch survived a fucking NOBLE PHANTASM (which was totally bullshit by the way) and now she's complaining that Assassin should have attacked her instead of calling pest control. Could we please move on from that melodrama already? I'm getting real tired of this.
NTD Prime chapter 16 . 8/16
This is great and really well written. I'm rooting for Ibaraki so much right now, she hasn't killed even ONE servant. I just want her to kill one at least. Please don't make her narrative significance so small as to be nothing more than a punching bag for the rest of them. I've seen a lot of people claiming her story is preparing for a big climax but all I've seen is her get defeated at every turn in what seems to be preparing for a tragic end not a triumphant one. Just having her kill one named character would be enough.
Elizander chapter 16 . 8/15
This is a very confusing turn of events.
On one hand even now I'm forced to believe Ibaraki is under Da Vinci's control. Everything about this plan and her manner of speech feels alien to her compared to how she was in previous chapters.
And yet, doing all this just to get a chance to fight Srenity one on one seems like a stupid, very emotion driven decission that only the real Ibaraki would do. Cuz I cant think for the life of me how any of this might help team Caster, when Da Vinci already knows Kiritsugu's greatest weakness: He's actually a big teddy bear with a heart of gold.
Seriously, had Kirei realize just how emotionally vulnerable Kiritsugu was in Zero, he would have DESTROYED him.

I can't wait to see what's going to happen now.
Emperor Rance chapter 16 . 8/15
So instead of trying to wipe out all the masters and servants in one swoop in a last ditch attempt at victory. Berserker tries to hold court with a hostage to complain about how she is being unfairly persecuted for her terrible strategy and how she was forced to kill dozens of people to sustain. Then she has the gall to complain how Assasin is a coward knowing that Assassin is likely the weakest servant in the war. Archer was right about the other ways, Berserker could have taken to try and win but she is like her master a moron who can only think of murder as the solution to all of their problems. Can Lancer come out already and kill Berserker already? Team Berserker's plot armor is wearin thin right now.
kingsoteng chapter 16 . 8/15
Thanks for the chapter
TheHolyBlade chapter 16 . 8/15
Angra Mainyu wouldn't have been summoned in the Third Grail War... but what if he was still summoned in this one, the Fourth Grail War? I wouldn't think of any other Servant perfectly suited to be Kirei Kotomine's.
Guest chapter 16 . 8/15
Could someone please KILL her already?! I'm sick and tired of those two!
King0fP0wers chapter 16 . 8/15
What hypocrisy. Alright, Berserker, your summoning sucked so you used alternate unsavory means to obtain a semblance of victory. From a logical viewpoint, it was a good decision. From a moral one... not so much. No matter.
So what's the problem with Assassin's actions? Did you seriously expert her to face you in honorable combat with a cheesy "have at thee!"? Or try to assassinate a powerful Servant or her more or less protected/hidden Master? What's wrong with manipulating others who are much more suited to the task? As you complained about prejudice for your inhumanity, you now complain about the pragmatic decisions of an much weaker opponent.
Yup. Berserker is nuts.
