HA! Cinematic universe! AH, that was a good one. I straight up laughed when Owen got made at Koneko with the Stegosaurus/T-rex thing.
Also, holy shit! That takedown that George did as a Herrerasaurus was brutal and I loved it! Purp, take notes. Anyways, I’m really looking forward to more of this story. I know I may have poked some fun at it and said that it had flaws, but I still love it. It’s got dinosaurs, it’s got a smartass creature in a Sacred Gear… not quite at the point where there’s boobs, but we’re getting there! Anyways, keep it up!

Okay, I have few to no complaints about this chapter. In fact, I’d say that this chapter was a big improvement in that it showed off more of George’s previously mentioned anxiety. Although I saw a little typo error where it said that George had a boyfriend (I mean, if that’s the way he swings). I also don’t know why the dinosaurs are assigned ranks and usages/powers but I won’t question it. I’ve seen some stories pull off unorthodox things with dinosaurus before and work out pretty well, with DaPPA and Dinosaur King Retold being the prime examples.
Also, I caught that Italian Dragon Emperor reference. You cheeky little bugger you.
I would like to question how George knew that those were Pteranodon wings he sprouted. I'm just going to assume that Owen/Dark Side told him that they were.
The Asylum reference caught my eye, mainly because I watch a lot of Diamondbolt’s videos and like to see him suffer as he reviews Asylum films.

And finally, I have quite a few questions about the Mesomorpher-saurus, most notably how it’s able to change species. No animal, like, EVER, had the ability to do that, so is the Mesomorpher-saurus species magic? Some chimeric dinosaur species that incorporates the eDNA of creatures it comes across into it’s genetic structure? I have so many questions about how the species works that I doubt I could even fit them all into this review. Anyways, enough about the guy stuck inside of the Dinotrix, time to poke fun at a quote from this chapter!

You know, it’s just now, right after I finish writing this review, that I realize that George shouldn’t have Pteranodon wings. Maybe Microraptor, Sinornithosaurus, Anchiornis or Yi qi wings, but not Pteranodon wings since Pteranodon weren’t dinosaurs. Anyways, with that out of the way, I’m gonna do a shitpost and make a theme song for George.

So, I noticed some more inconsistencies here. George says that there’s not many people that talk to him, but it was mentioned in the previous chapter that he’s popular with the female students. If that’s true, then I’m pretty sure that he would have been approached more than a few times by girls. His earlier mentioned shyness also isn’t really showing up. So far, George is just coming across as one of those “oh, bad things have happened to me in the past, pity me” characters.
Some of George’s dialogue also sounded kinda cheesy and unnatural at points. I don’t know how Asperger's works though, so I’m not sure whether that’s normal or not for people with it.
Raynare is getting spared I assume, which isn’t too surprising. I just hope that the story is written in a way where there is an actual reason for Raynare to be spared and that at least one other Fallen is as well.
I personally really liked the omake, but I feel like it might be too long for non-paleo fans. I recommend that, if you end up making another omake longer than the main story, you make it a separate chapter. That way it doesn’t appear as daunting for new readers. But overall, I like it and the fact that clear effort went into studying Hell Creek and life at that time period. Seriously, outside of Prehistoric Park fanfictions, I have NEVER seen someone mention that grass had only evolved in India at that time.
I do feel that the girls were too knowledgeable about the Hell Creek biosphere despite having no prior knowledge about it and that they were kind of overdoing the reactions to stuff in the omake, but the omake has a sort of campy feel to it so I’ll forgive it for that.

I was originally going to draw comparisons to The Italian Dragon Emperor but 54Godamora already explained the reasoning as to why that was so it doesn’t bother me as much. Still bothers me a little, but not nearly as much as before now. Although, if possible, I think it would benefit the story if sometime in the future you rewrote the first chapter so that it doesn’t remind potential readers of The Italian Dragon Emperor.
I also really relate to how the character was early on in life. I swear, it was like reading a third party’s description of a younger me when young George was being described (although younger me did a lot less biting and a lot more kicking, hissing and growling). I want to see what you’ll do with his character in the future, given how you mention that he’s a shy person several times and the fact that this is Highschool DxD, which WILL inevitably lead to multiple girls becoming attracted to him.
A minor gripe I have is the change of George’s character in the omake. You made a point to state that George was shy several times but it didn’t really show that much in this first chapter or the omake. In fact, he seems to be the opposite in the omake, being very outgoing and energetic.
Anywho, I am really looking forward to seeing where this is going. Extinct animals and Highschool DxD are a rare combination I have only seen once, twice if you want to be generous and include kaiju (wait, NVM, because if a kaiju is still living then that means that the species is still extant; it was one all along) and both haven’t been updated in quite some time, most likely being abandoned. I’m really eager to see what aforementioned character deaths you have in store for this story and excited to just see some saurian asskicking in general. With all of that said, I wish you all luck in writing this story.
P.S. In response to 54Godamora’s question, I think you should reference the subtitles instead of the English dub. I personally did a mix of subtitles, English dub and the light novel when writing Shapeshifter of Kuoh, but it took up lots of time and frankly made me want to bash my head through a wall several times.
