I understand the need for proper build up (which is being quite through in this reguard) of Orochimaru's attack on the village. But I prefer reading about and from Sakura's perspective in this story. I enjoy that quite a bit more.

Just a little error I noticed towards the beginning of the chapter. Danzo saysNo, only trespasses on our village and murdered one of our own." You already implied they didn't know Anko was dead and that Akiha is still in the E.R. So no one died. Not nit picking here. Just wanted to point something out. I'm enjoying this story.

I've always loved Sakura's character (I mean obviously as I am here reading this). But I honestly COULD NOT respect her more right now. She is a 13 year old girl who is going into a fight knowing she can't win in order to protect her teammates from (in her mind) being raped. She is going in knowing she has no chance of winning with only the slim hope that she stalls enough for someone to come save THEM and not her. There are grown adults who wouldn't even do this for close friends. I respect her so much for this.

So wtf happened in chapter eight, just this entire chapter does not fit with the rest of the story so far

First and foremost I hope Sasuke is ok, second well damn... and thirdly you’re story is amazing just love it!
Itachi kind of fucked up by taking away her memories I’m glad he knows this. Kakashis panic attack / mind is so well written
I’m hoping Naruto finds out about his parentage in the upcoming chapters

I was kind of worried about that KakashiOC ship tag but Río seems like the actual ship rather than the teenaged Nara and the chemistry is way better. Phew!

Oh, so, I saw you replaced all "Río"s during editing and I just wanted to point out that you probably could have made sure capitalization mattered and added a space after the "o" to prevent the vaRíous replacements of her name throughout the document. Most text editors can do this, as far as I am aware, and makes it easier to replace all without the accidental replacements where you *don't* want it.

This is a really refreshing take on how Sakura and Itachi get to know each other from all the various ItaSaku I've read! Keep it up!

Holy holy holy shiiit! This. Was. Awesome!

I adore Rìo, and also how ROOT isn't just pure evil nastiness. Because that never really made sense... Like if ROOT was evil, then so was Hiruzen, ANBU, and anyone with any control or power in Konoha. So then, ROOT had to be crazy, shady, and really not nice, but not PURE evil. Anyways, ROOT and Rìo aside, I'm also super happy with your description of Kakashi and his mental state and all that. Plus, other than the panic attackall of his scenes were funny as hell! And writing humour that works is hardwell done! Reading your writing is nearly reminiscent of reading Terry Pratchett for the first time.

To the SakuraItachi scenes. Those were great! I really admire how you've described their characters while also foreshadowing Sakura's awesomenessand perhaps her gengutsu specialization, which really should have happened in canon btw. And finally, the final scene! I am so PUMPED to see Itachi go full protective big brother all over Orochimaru's pedifillic, scaly ass. I always wanted to see that go down. Its always confusing to me the number of people in big storytelling who can't seem to write a good redemption arc to save their lives. But I digress.

I'm surprised by myself to even like your writing of Danzo, cause he's...well you know, evil Danzo. But it's sooooo fantastic to put his normally ethically questionable scheme when the purpose was just right! I always love the notion of power dynamic between Hiruzen and Danzo. They're just like Naruto and Sasuke if Naruto is serious and Sasuke has lower moral/ethic code.

Oh and that part where Sakura has sudden epiphany about Kakashi just pureeeeee funny! Your fic really reminds me what makes me fall in love with manga Naruto in the first place; fun. Thanks for that
