Seeing as in your story Neo won't be faced with the challenge of getting stronger in the wake of Roman's death (probably… seeing as Roman in your MC), I would like to see her get stronger to rise to the challenge of besting Cinder and all the threats she comes with. Neo is my favourite character in the show as well, so really I just want to see my ice cream queen kick some ass!

This sets things up nicely. Now Roman has to deal with two crazy powerful people trying to tear his criminal empire apart. The guy's going to have some real headaches waiting for him.

Good as always. Cinder being Cinder, but sheesh lady, take it easy of the fine wine, that stuff ain't cheap. Here's hoping the twins were off on some adventure, otherwise they'd have got a real thrashing.

One thing I love about fics involving Roman is the possibility that he and Ozpin might meet. Those two have a real way with words and witty lines, although Ozpin definitely has Roman beat on experience there, being semi-immortal and all, but despite being a good guy and a bad guy, they have some cool similarities, that and they both have a sense of style, heck they might get along in an adversarial kind of egotistical way were they ever on the same side, always trying to subtly get under eachothers skin with the things they say. Well that's how I've always imagined it.

Oh, I like how Roman runs his operation, a blend of a chain of command and also delegating responsibilities to those best qualified to handle them. It also sounds like they operate in separate cells and divisions and only make contact with head office, which should make it harder for them to compromise eachother should trouble come knocking. I like that their spy is so good at hiding in plain sight that they keep forgetting everything about him, hehehe.

Oh, and why doesn't it surprise me that Neo has kinks? lol.

Seeing as this is pre-thrown off a cliff I'm gonna go ahead and assume a little red-head doesn't knock some goons around. That being said if Ruby does end up in Beacon by fighting one of Cinder's foolI would guess that Roman would help her anyway they can; information and fighting with her. I always wondered what kind of power did Roman have in canon so it's great to see him here having the mafia power he looks like.

I really like this story and I think you do a very good job of characterizing Roman and Neo.

However, because I like this story, there is an error in this chapter that I feel compelled to point out that I normally wouldn't otherwise. Both Ash and the Doc say that Roman doesn't have a concussion because he doesn't have any symptoms of a concussion like slurred speech and loss of consciousness. Instead, Roman just has a headache. However, a headache is, in fact, actually considered one of the most common symptoms of a concussion.

Furthermore, most real-world doctors (at least from more Western Countries, Eastern Countries may have a different system), use the idea that if a patient has even one symptom of a concussion, they cannot rule out the possibility of there being a concussion and thus, treat head injuries as such. Thus, while I could maybe understand Ash not knowing this since he had to look up this information on his scroll, it seems very, VERY odd that the medic on Roman's payroll wouldn't know this given their profession.

Now while I understand this is all taking place fictional world, given the many parallels that RWBY's world has to our world, this discrepancy seems a little odd. Especially given how Roman wakes up with a headache the following day as well, which should really be a cause of concern for almost all medical professionals (outside of the bad ones). The only way I could logically think to explain this inconsistency is that Roman's Medic is either a really poor Physician, or that he is lying about the diagnosis (maybe because Cinder bribed him or something). Even then, Ash still probably should be a little concerned about his boss reporting a headache the following day.

Its nice to see Roman show he has brains and can plan for things just like Cinder. I always did think half of Cinder's plans in volume 1 - 3 were at least partly thought out by Roman. As expected, Neo is fussing over her partner, here's hoping they enjoy their game of cards while there's time since it sounds like things are about to kick off.

Enjoyed this a lot. Nice show of Neo and Roman's excellent teamwork, too bad they got a little cocky and let their guard down. That crossbow remark makes me like Ash as well. Roman was superbly in character too, and Neo is as awesome as ever, hell as many problems as I have with Volume 6, it showed that Roman's death had motivated her and made her semblance st stronger too. I'm also glad you didn't downplay how dangerous Cinder is even without her, at this time, half-assed maiden magical bullshit. Well, guess we'll get a chapter of Ice Cream Girl fussing doting over her boss's bumps and bruises and him swatting her away to maintain his dignity.

By the way, you handled the action very well, it flowed nicely, didn't meander or burden it with excessive details, it was nicely done, and the dialog was on point. I don't know where you'll go with the larger plot, but one option if Roman and Neo ever need some backup is recruiting the twins and Junior's club, I mean yeah, Yang beat their asses, mostly by splitting them up, but they're still pretty formidable as a duo. Either way, Roman's got quite a few underworld resources, so it'd be interesting to see how he fits into the role of an anti-hero while still being a crook and frustrating poor Cinder's plans.

First chapter with actions scenes and very exciting to read. Especially when combined with the snark of characters, like Neo thinking, 'Oh for god's sake, do something new for a change.' And as usual, your portrayal of Roman continues to steal the show. Magnificent!

I'm really liking where this is going, and Neo is delightful in this story, she seems so very full of energy. Its good that you're showing a little of Roman's operations and his subordinates, its nice to know he has some talented help too.

YES, another chapter! You write Roman so well and seeing his personality on display alone makes this story so much fun to read :D

Man this fic made me remember how much I miss Roman in the show. I'm enjoying this more and more.
