BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 3/13/2012 A great story. Very well written. |
The Lady Arianrod chapter 1 . 11/18/2003 Wow~ that was very in character, and not only this, but quite moving too! I love Sam and how he just... is, and you captured both his grief for Frodo and his love for his son in this particular instant. I can definitely picture this happening... poor Sam... oh, and I love how you repeated those quotes from the book/movie... (like when Sam and Frodo were talking about the tales they'd be in). Wonderful job, very sad... I have to write one like this, about Sam! -The Lady Arianrod |
Sullen Kitten chapter 1 . 11/7/2003 That may be the only fic that I ever truly cried for. Just like Sam, lovely writing style, not overly sobby-sobby, very good, real. True storytelling. |
panther7xcomputer2slow2login chapter 1 . 7/26/2003 this is so sweet, almost like a study of bravery. |
neverendingpast chapter 1 . 7/5/2003 That was, simply put, beautiful. You managed to capture the emotions completely, and write in a style that is worthy of Tolkien. Sam's grief is tangible, and his son comes across as a real person as well. It's refreshing to read this story when even some that I think are good are...well...not of this caliber. Nice warning that it's not slash, too- there's so much of it around... |
Lady Meowzalot chapter 1 . 6/5/2003 Wow. I absolutely love this story! The descriptions were wonderful, and Sam and little Frodo so lifelike! I am still amazed! *wishes she could write like that, then gets over her fit of jealousy* ~Lady M. . |
dreamkin chapter 1 . 6/5/2003 Now you see THIS is what I mean when I said you could do better. It's fantastic! Your grasp of Sam's use of language is excellent, and you capture the accent well without making him sound absolutely ridiculous. The description at the beginning is well written, and I liked the subtlety you used when describing Sam's grief. I don't believe he has poetic thoughts like Frodo does, but that doesn't mean he can't hide his feelings. This is *so* much better than my LOTR story. (Thanks for the review btw) Particularly liked Sam's critisism of the antics of Mr. Took and Mr. Brandybuck - very IC. *dreamkin |
Hellga chapter 1 . 6/4/2003 Thanks for reviewing my poem! This is a beatiful story, I love your characters. Little Frodo wants to be like the REAL Frodo! Aw :) And yes, I think that being brave is not having no fear but rather overruling this fear. Hugs, Hellga |
Emma from finland chapter 1 . 5/21/2003 I am not a grait fan of fenfiction, but this one I simply loved! It was very beautiful, and it had the "feeling" of the Lord of the Rings. I was wondering, if i could translate it in finnish. If you dont mind. It would be for my best friend. She doesnt understand english very well. Thank you for wrighting this! |
Kay chapter 1 . 5/18/2003 What a moving portrayal of Sam missing his friend, and the grief that he still feels so strongly. This is beautiful and so poignant! Thank you for writing it! |
