Well, i didn’t figure out who the old “guide” was before Joseph, but at least i realized it before Joseph went ahead and spelled it out.
I’m more curious about where the …er, ex-Pillar Man under the temple came from. According to Battle Tendency, Cars killed all his people except for AC/DC, Wham, and Santana. I suppose there could have been other ‘tribes’, for lack of a better term, elsewhere in the world, but the implication is that those four are the last of their kind… The fact that they have Stone Masks means that these did meet Cars’ group at some point, since he’s the one who created the masks and the rest of his people rejected them. I don’t suppose there’s going to be much of an explanation so far as Pillar Men in Tibet are concerned.
Great fight scene after that, though.

I am so on board with Joseph teaching Jotaro Hamon. This whole Hamon temple side trip is cool, too. I’m looking forward to seeing what they find and what’s up with this so-called guide.

Bubble Launcher! Joseph used Bubble Launcher! This is awesome! So great! Joseph’s Hamon was faded too much into the background after Battle Tendency, but this is better than my wildest dreams. Stardust Crusaders Joseph using Hamon in an extra battle besides Empress, AND honoring Caesar in the process? Fantastic.

This mini-arc is really exciting! I loved seeing Joseph’s ‘the next thing you’re going to say’ catchphrase in the last chapter, and all of Hol Horse’s running around is a lot of fun. I think i’d have enjoyed seeing the two of them face off in canon – this is great.

This is great! Seeing young Joseph interact with Jotaro is both hilarious and just really good character synergy.
