Aaaaah!.. don't tell us to imagine the movie! That pulls me out of the story you are telling! Also I don't think it is just the present tense that is bothering me. I think it is extra words that aren't the way people speak. Instead of "he is moving" it should be "he moves" or better "he moved". It. is pretty good though. I eagerly anticipate your next chapter.

No one can prepare. for the Spanish Inquisition! I think your conversations within paragraphs are fine. There are enough descriptions and thoughts between people that I have been clear about who was speaking. However, your use of present tense is jarring "he goes to ...". Usually in books it is past tense that is used. The narrator has already seen it and is telling us, so it has already happened.

Well that was a fun start!

Seems like a nice start to me. Daphne Greengrass might make a good addition.
