Too contrived.

Man, Taylor is really suffering from the Panacea effect, I can help everyone by devoting myself to it constantly so choosing not to is inherently evil, completely ignoring the fact that most people aren't evil and could be doing a hell of a lot more to help others.

I've read one story where I really liked Taylor's reconciliation with Emma, Sophia and Madison are easier because they didn't betray a friendship with her first. In the story Emma had actually triggered with a minor power, the ability to see potential capes as sparks and capes as beautiful burning flames. So after Taylor triggered Emma came over and congratulated her, so happy that Taylor had finally become the beautiful flame she was always meant to be, Emma was also sexually attracted to Taylor. Taylor ended up calling Alan and getting Emma actual therapy because Emma hadn't realized just how wrong it was to betray a friendship and push someone until they broke because you want them to achieve their potential of being powerful.

ah, Contessa!wanking.. PtV is a rather overestimated power, all it can do is simulate how-to guides to achieve stuff, and it's heavily limited as it needs information to do so, information it can't get on its own. That's why Cauldron failed so much, PtV was filled with blindspots, the paths were unreliable. Also, there's no real precognition in Worm, just computer simulations that work based on current acquired data, and if the data is wrong, so it's the prediction.

And with just this chapter and all the Contessa wank i lost all pretty much any fun in reading this , shame it was looking so much fun how you where dealing with Taylor morals but then you did this .

I'm finding this story to be intriguing. I'm engaged.

Honestly I never care about Emma's issues. The author's that write about reconciliation fics, seem to be living in a dream world.

I'm content never seeing/hearing about Emma or the trio ever again, my urge to read goes down ever time I see Taylor try and make friends of people who treated her like shit for whatever reason.

Amazing story. Thought provoking in its own way. When the only thing limiting your power is yourself, every decision turns into a moral dilemma especially when it's modeled after a monster of monsters. The fact that's she's had to consciously stop multiple plans that her subconscious put in motion is scary enough that anyone would always feel like they're walking on eggshells. Fabulous work, can't wait to read more.

cool idea. but there is no foundation. Its beyond circular logic. You always have her be wrong. Every single time and over every single thing. If she was growing and changing it would be something at least. But essentially Taylor is the exact same as she was in chapter 1. She doesn't even have a real power it seems...just a case of knowing to much and having such an extreme case of anxiety that she's paralyzed into doing nothing. At first I thought she was going to be over powered. But when pretty much every single person around her is able to top her.. even if just because she's afraid of almost every single aspect of her power to the point of doing nothing...and dear god how many times are you going to have her make a decision. look. decide its wrong. panic. give herself a pep talk. look. be wrong.. look be wrong, look be wrong, have a brake down and then decide to do NOTGHING! Fix it vibs? Well you have changed a few problems...you apparently never bother to show even a single one of them and just TELL us about it like its past history.. Coil? Sophia? You don't solve any problems. There is never any closure! The level of self doubt, anxiety, self hate...it does not fit! Its not Taylors. Its all yours! Just you dumping a mountain of emotional shit onto Taylor..at least does it make you feel better? Can you now make a decision in real life without the crippling doubt you have? Because the story is already a dead story waiting to die.. seen it happen a MILLION times now. Your WAY past the point of being able to "fix" the story in future chapters. Taylor has nothing to stand on while you keep piling shit up. You pretend for just a second she finds her footing...but as is now boringly predictable with you its all a philosophical illusion… and then you wonder why you only have friends from pity! Who wants to be around ONLY that! Bet your the "buzz kill" "party pooper" "Downer" of everyone you meet! CAn feel the depression and suicidal thoughts with your every written word.

Yeah um Contessa isn't the most powerful parahuman around, PtV isn't infallible. Hadn't realized this was a Contessa wanking story.

I don't understand why Contessa's path would shift? She can see Taylor. Therefore anything Taylor sees her do is already taken into account. And Path to Learn About Taylor Hebert should just dump all relevant info into her brain anyway? Why would she need to interact with Taylor at all?

The prose is a little disjointed at times and there are occasional grammar mistakes, but the plot itself has been solid. Taylor is in character enough to be somewhat recognisable to me (that's rare!), and I really like the focus on the responsibility her powers bring, and her newfound determination to be an anti-Simurgh, spreading the seeds of hope, healing and creation wherever she goes.

I think you're taking the right track by focusing on stuff like this, instead of head on fights with other factions. World class powers like this aren't really suited for a story about direct conflicts. When the power level is that high all but a small handful of characters essentially become non threats (Everyone except Scion, the other Endbringers and Cauldron basically). All the wonderful complexity of the setting gets reduced to just these couple of characters fighting it out.

Or worse yet, the story doesn't properly explore the consequences of such a strong power at all, and it's just 300k words of Taylor sitting around in Brockton Bay, getting in fights against small time criminals that she can't possibly lose.

But by making it about Taylor fixing things, building Earth Bet back up from the brink of ruin, and trying to do it without killing a bunch of people and mastering everyone into compliance, the story has tension again. There's problems that can't be solved in an eye blink. Taylor has a reason to interact with other characters and involve herself in their relationships and power struggles.

Looking forward to where this goes.
