Reviews for Howl At Night
Matt Quinn chapter 22 . 7/31
Wow. That was dark.

Hopefully "when you are more presentable" will involve Arya coming up behind him with a knife at some convenient point. Sansa knows exactly what kind of snake LF is and hopefully this was some scheme to get him to let his guard down.
curt466 chapter 21 . 7/28
interesting story. keep up the good work
Gayeld chapter 21 . 7/27
I spend so little time looking at stories in these days and even less at ones that aren't Gendrya that it had to some kind of wonderful twist of fate that I ran across your story. This is just so beautifully written and in character for everyone. You're really doing a marvelous job of treating all the characters fairly and not pushing any agendas ahead of telling a good story.

As much as I love my little bubble, I really cherish stories that remind me so much of why I love the books. Thank you!
Matt Quinn chapter 21 . 7/26
Good to know you remember the Three Heads of the Dragon prophecy. That was something that got left out of the show big-time. I imagine Jon is one and Danaerys the other. Who will be the third? Something tells me that Young Griff won't be putting in an appearance.

And the Skagosi are...Bigfeet? The Ibbenese are strongly implied to be Neanderthals (shorter, heavier, and hairier than ordinary people, and unable to have viable children with them) and based on the racism directed toward them it's clear you've been reading the ASOIAF Wiki. I wasn't expecting that, and it's nice to see Sansa isn't being a snob.

(It's also nice to see Danaerys in a better mood and getting along with everybody.)

Keep up the good work. It's always nice to have a new chapter every day or so.

So Jamie is dead good don't need to revive him.
Matt Quinn chapter 20 . 7/25
I laughed out loud at Arya's comments to Gendry re: his obvious lust for Danaerys. And it was funny that Jon knew Arya and Gendry were spying on the meeting the whole time.

Good to see that Ser Jorah was useful in keeping the peace at the opening conference. Between the Northerners' dislike of "perfumed Southrons" telling them what to do and Danaerys' entitlement issues, that could have been a disaster.

Given Danaerys' skepticism about the Army of the Dead, maybe she and Jon could fly out to the Wall and the lands beyond it? If you want the Jon/Danaerys of the show that could be an opportunity (IIRC the initial hand-holding was in the caves on Dragonstone with the paintings of the White Walkers) and if you want Jon to ride a dragon and prove he's a Targaryen, that would be a good chance too.

Keep up the good work!
Matt9917 chapter 11 . 7/24
When Arya slaughtered the Freys she should have put them all to the knife, not just the men, but the women and children too, everyone related to the Freys and their families as well. That's the whole point of ripping them out root and stem you not only end your enemies but their families, friends, all of them. Burn down the houses they live in and places they work. Wipe them off the face of the planet. Leave none alive to tell the tale like they never existed. Same should have been done to Kitty and Roslin.
Matt9917 chapter 10 . 7/24
Sansa always had a stick up her ass, even after surviving Ramsay and then the destruction of the Boltons and returning to Winterfell she still had a stick up her ass even though she had no reason to be that way. She still could have been kinder to Jon and less biting than she had been, Jon went through worse than she did, he actually died, she didn't. Even after retaking Winterfell she still tended to act prim and proper, I hate that shit to be honest, bloody annoying if ya ask me.
Matt Quinn chapter 19 . 7/24
I like how you described how filthy Danaerys is after a prolonged dragon flight and a battle. The show never touched on that, but between the moisture in the sky, smoke and ash, etc. she's going to be a mess. I also liked how she's learned more about her new allies and the maybe-ally Littlefinger. She won't be going into this blindly.

Since Danaerys didn't see the body, I'm guessing Jaime isn't really dead. Given how that chapter ended, he's probably not in that great of condition at the moment. :( And there's no Bronn to save him like in the show, if he was left behind in the Riverlands.

And Highgarden is saved and I'm assuming Ellaria and the Sand Snakes are with Danaerys in the North. That changes a LOT of stuff from the TV show. Cersei's position is much weaker and Danaerys isn't losing her advisors and support system.
Vampirelord101 chapter 18 . 7/23
Please don't have Jon be a Targaryen, that was one of the most cringeworthy things in GOT.
yolandatavio chapter 18 . 7/23
Your story is amazing! I couldnt stop reading
saphirablue25 chapter 1 . 7/23
One thing a lot of people, including D&D forgot is that Sansa, despite being the Lady of anything, was never actually taught about the paperwork of being a Lord or Lady like she seemed to miraculously know in season 7. Even if Setpa Mordane taught her some or her mother did, both stopped when she was 11 in the books and 13 in the show. After reaching King's Landing, Sansa didn't show any interest in lessons and after she was being taught how to survive, how to rule and how to manipulate by Shea, Cersei and Baelish. I doubt any of them bothered to teach her the paperwork side of anything. Jon actually WAS taught and had to practice it since he was raised next to Robb and was the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. By making him not able to do it well while saying Sansa could is making her better than she should have been with how she was raised.
Xennen71 chapter 16 . 7/21
Really enjoying this. Keep it up...
CarriettaWhite chapter 16 . 7/21
Love it, please continue, I'm excited to see how Arya and Sansa would catch littlefinger and the encounter of Jon and Daenerys in North
Matt Quinn chapter 16 . 7/21
And so it was that Highgarden was saved and Jaime...maybe...killed. Didn't expect that.

Keep up the good work.
