I'm seeing potential here for Foyle's happy new year. Love that you've captured his ability to deadpan and have others believe he really didn't understand. It is one of his fun qualities. I do hope you continue this little series of meeting between Foyle and Miss Brown!

I love the idea that Foyle's inner life includes something that — while perfectly innocent — he would be reluctant to admit to, the glimpse of day-to-day life in Steep Lane, and his unexpected reunion with Miss Brown.
