Love this! The banter between them is fantastic. Supportive Han Solo is the best. I like that he was there for Leia to cheer her up, strengthen her resolve, show her again why she is so important to so many people. And then once she was OK - the joking and flirting could resume. Delightful and touching. Really like how Han's intentions for the doll are irreverent, but he drops them in favour of gentler support, while never lying to Leia. He doesn't exaggerate their chances, just speaks the truth, which speaks of his trustworthiness and essential respect for her even as he never misses a beat with the flirtation. There's a sense here of an increasingly intricate and high-stakes juggling act, and while this fic works handily and charmingly on its own, it also feeds into your overall arc for these two otw to Bespin. I love that Han is so besotted with her, and yet still trying so hard to play the game - until it becomes clear that Leia is feeling exceptionally low, and she needs him to stop jousting for a minute, and be real with her. Very nicely done.
