For a modern girl she sounds a bit 'old'. I hoped she would be quirky, fun, sarcastic and etc (a complete opposite of Glorfindel). Imagine the conflict between them? How they will slowly grow on each other, accepting each others weirdness. Doesn't seem like that's the case here, which is disappointing. I guess I am not feeling the character, she is tasteless. Maybe if she wasn't from the 'modern world' but from some other reality that is similar to LOTR but magicless, then I would've believed it. Unfortunately it feels artificial.

Also, she us imprisoned for years in Mirkwood... Don't tell me that it won't make her a bit crazy, but again no changes here she is still bland. What is surprising me the most is her 'physical activity'. Don't get me wrong, that's exactly what you should do in a situation like this, but her 'teaching' herself to fight is downright ridiculous. That sounds bizarre. She better not come out there a warrior, because that 'growing as a character' trope doesn't work on me. If she had a cellmate that was a spy or an ex-warrior and he or she taught her and then suddenly disappeared, that's where I would believe the writer. Please don't ruin everything.

The story itself doesn't seem bad, I just pointed out the negative things that nag at me. It definitely needs editing, but otherwise it is readable. Still can't say anything clear on the plotline or characters. No plotline yet and characters are bland for now.

I really do love how polite and well-mannered Sauron seems in comparison with Saruman.

There’s something highly entertaining about those two trying to figure out what ents are. Elrond needs to get out more, he’s apparently losing touch with the rest of Arda.

Ugh, this whole time, all I wanted was for everyone to just know evelyn’s side of the story... that you would grow disdainful and dark if you went through what she has... I’m really looking forward to how the story progresses

And so the story of proud Evelyn goes on. I wonder how useful she will be, there has to be a difference between that world and the one of the books for her presence to be required.
