It's a good first chapter but let me emphasize TO START A STORY WITHOUT ANY PLAN IS A PLAN FOR FAILURE. Too many stories on this site meet this ignominious failure point. I have a story with a plan and about one third of the way completed. YOU, NOR ANYONE ELSE WILL SEE THE FIRST WORD UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO TIE THE END TO WHAT I'VE WRITTEN. If you haven't figured out how to nail the ending don't let anyone know you don't know where you are going.
