I like this idea. Especially having shadow pokemon in Galar, it just sounds so interesting.

I really loved this prompt! It felt so organic (besides all of Josie’s Pokémon being shiny) and down to earth, the characters relationships with each other feel real and lack that artificial feeling that usually comes with retelling the anime with slight differences. I especially enjoyed the fact that while Josie is grieving over her lost friend she still can think about other things and not let it completely consume her like you see in 90% of fanfics involving the death of loved ones. I’ve been reading your other fic “To Repair With Gold” since it reached the 20,000 word mark and I can see the writing style you developed from it make an appearance in this work as well. I’m not going to try to pester you to continue on with this plot bunny if you don’t care about it now that it’s out of your head, but I can easily see myself reading the rest of the story if you ever decide to create an official story off of this.
