38Solaire38 chapter 2 . 1/24 Jesus, Dr. Kanou is just as, if not more, creepy as his cannon counterpart. Seriously poor Yurika, I really hope that Kanou doesn't decide to perform surgery to see her predatory organs better. Please keep up the good work! |
Raime063AN chapter 2 . 12/16/2019 I absolutely love the tone of this one, has just the right amount of unsettling and disturbing to really get under your skin. As always I'll be looking forward to more. I remember those days, things were so much simpler, was and still am a massive bookworm that spends more time up at night than during the day too. |

And The Others Laugh chapter 2 . 12/16/2019 Ooooooh no... I know where this is going. Because of that asshole doctor, Yurika is going to become that one character who always smiles no matter what and creeps everyone out, even though she's actually just desperately trying to stay happy and positive. Damn, so this is what you meant by her being a misunderstood MC. Also, shady doctor is shady. I wasn't 100% sure how shady he was at first, because the tests could've been legitimate (even if it was VERY unlikely), but once he told Yurika 'don't tell your mom about this' I was like 'NOPE! NUH-UH! STRANGER DANGER!' Poor baby doesn't even realize the doctor she trusts so much is actually an opportunistic prick that is conducting illegal tests on her Quirk. He actually kind of reminds me of Kabuto Yakushi from Naruto. He really feels like the same kind of smiling medic bastard who takes advantage of literally everyone. And oh my God, I LOVED the interactions between Yurika and her mom, it was incredibly sweet! I appreciate the fact that her mom still cares about her daughter despite her horrifying Quirk - it's sad to say, but not every parent would react the way she did and still treat their kid as a kid. You can tell she's very tired, but that she's still just trying her best to give her little girl a somewhat normal childhood despite everything. I like that she also indulges in her daughter's weird tastes and doesn't judge her for it - again, not every parent is that accepting. And that little tidbit about Tokoyami's parents avoiding him because of his Quirk really tugged at my heartstrings. Luckily, he has Yurika to keep him company. I'm super hyped to see Yurika's kagune; can't wait to find out what her Rc type is and how her kagune is going to manifest. I'm also curious to see if she has any special abilities or if her kagune is just standard. (Also, I completely identify with kid-you; I too was the kind of kid and teenager who would just try to creep out my friends everytime I could. The schadenfreude was real. XD) Keep up the good work and good luck writing the next chapter! |
And The Others Laugh chapter 1 . 12/4/2019 Absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see where this story goes in terms of plot. I already love Yurika so much and I can't wait to see how she'll evolve as a character and how the other characters are going to react to her. Poor baby is just four years old and she already needs a hug. I also love the world you built; it makes sense that with the widespread of Quirks, people would eventually create a facility for children whose Quirks are harmful to others or have a tendency to be uncontrollable. And it makes sense for child-Tokoyami to be there. Having a sentient, at-times homicidal Quirk must've been harsh for a child. The nightlight bit and the fact that they both find comfort in each other really gave me the feels. I hope he accepts Yurika for who she is if she ever decides to tell him what her Quirk fully entails. |
FarFromTheSun chapter 1 . 12/3/2019 This is great! I love how much detail you put into your writing! |
Raime063AN chapter 1 . 11/14/2019 Utterly disturbing in the best possible ways, the attention to detail in everything from her mental state to the descriptions of actions and things really sells this one. As always I'll be looking forward to whatever comes next. |
PersonaInsane chapter 1 . 11/13/2019 Very nice start. I look forward to see where this story goes. |
