Okay, so as I was reading this, I kept highlighting lines to copy/paste here and comment on, because they were either clever or hilarious or both. But then there were too many lines and I had to force myself to stop. Seriously! June's lil asshole surprise, the way she handles Tom-Tom- and Mai and her brother's whole conversation about smells. There's so much dry humor and I'm here for it.

Can't wait to see what happens next with these two.

I love how this "well-mannered and polite" foreign lady is now going toe-to-toe with a bounty hunter in broad daylight. Haha that butcher was in for a surprise.

This whole chapter was such a RIDE- I don't even know where to start! I'm really into the banter between Mai and June- they just click. How do you make June sound so threatening and yet so reasonable at the same time?

The idea of Mai being dragged away from Piandao sounds fitting enough- I could see her parents going to ridiculous lengths to keep her away. Too bad she was already a badass hehe.

Don't apologize for the short chapter- I like reading these slice-of-life moments.

I remember you telling me about this exchange- it's so surreal to read it on the page.

I like how you begin the chapter with Tom-Tom working on his history, history that's completely free of the harsh fire nation realities he'll learn later in life. But by the end, he learns a lesson very close to home...and of course you know he'll never see his sister the same way again.

Really enjoyed how the fight dialogue reads just as concise as Mai's actions. I've always thought of her as a precise fighter.

What a lovely, somber opener. Mai feels so in-character throughout all of this and I really felt for the way she looks out for Tom-Tom, in her quiet own way. Their connection is already palpable.

It's understandable that Mai has her doubts- this could backfire on the both of them- but she's doing the best she can. I'm curious whether the townsfolk will start to give them trouble.

I loved this chapter! Poor Mai and Tom-Tom.

I am loving Sensei Mai, especially knowing that Pianado trained her.
Can't wait for more.

Got to hate EK's bigotry, excellent lesson about feminisim and I like to think you got Mai's character right.

I am suprised it took me so ling to find this, considering how much I like your works. I think everyone at the end of the comics wants a break from being themselves.

Mai shows remarkable talent as sensei/trainer in this chapter. Also, I like your slow and gradual approach - a gradual story development helps to understand the characters lot more than rushed progress ...
